List of Alan Margolis's Reviews
One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at any type of doctor. I waited few weeks to write this review because I actually waited till I got a second opinion from another doctor to make sure not all doctors were like Dr Margolis. Not only did he show up one hour late and smelling like French fries but he also didn’t clean his hands and began touching my eyes. But main problem is that he was so condescending and rude. He made me feel as if there is something wrong with me and that I’m a nuisance to him. He laughed at how scared I was. He wouldn’t give me details about certain treatments because he assumed I wouldn’t handle It. I left the office in shock from How in America a doctor can treat a paying patient this way. I highly encourage others to look for another doctor, as I did and am Extremely satisfied with my new doctor. Reason why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1, is because his front desk guy was super nice.

This was my first time going to Dr. Margolis. My former Ophthalmologist retired, plus, Dr. Margolis's office is close to where I work and accepts my insurance - two reasons why I selected him. His medical/front office staff were very pleasant. Laura spent approximately 35 minutes with her pre-examination and then left me in an exam room where I waited approximately 10-15 minutes for the Dr. to arrive. The Dr.'s examination was thorough and he explained quite a bit to me about the condition of my eyes. He's quite knowledgeable and diligent with his examination; however, my appointment took two hours!
My husband & I saw Dr. Margolis years ago & found him to be rude & abrasive. I wrote him a letter to advise him of his terrible attitude & let him know I would never return to his practice & that I felt sorry for his dog or any pet he has that had to experience his hostile personality. Much better eye doctors across I-25 off Lincoln who are knowledgeable, with great credentials plus know how to treat with kindness. I’ve met several eye care specialists who say they constantly hear these same experiences about Margolis. Constantly having staff changes because his staff dislikes him. Stay clear of him if you’re opposed to a ranting maniac.
I wanted to have a special lense for just my right eye to not have to wear glasses. Dr acted unusual from the beginning. The day of my surgery, the check-in surgery staff tried to get me to pay a large co-pay. Then the check-in staff & doctor's assistant told me my lense was to be standard not specal. Dr assurred me it was special as agreed 5 min before surgery. Three weeks later check-up Dr was beside himself that I wasn't seeing better & tried to blame me/ accused me of lying. At 4-week check his Assistant checked said it was 20/20 which it was Ok. About 1 year later vision was alot worse with advanced astigmatism. The $4000 I paid out of my pocket was a waste of money!
I recently saw Dr. Margolis for cosmetic injections. I saw that they now offer cosmetic consults for skincare and other procedures for free, so I tried it out. I received injections in my chin to get rid of extra fat. The procedure was super quick and Dr. Margolis explained everything. It stung for a few minutes but that is to be expected. His assistant, Allison, stayed with me during the procedure to make sure I felt comfortable. A week later and I'm already seeing results! I'll be back.
I have been seeing Dr. Margolis for years. While he is a good doctor, the office is in constant turnover of staff and customer service is poor. Phone is never answered and they leave a message saying they will get back to you within 24 hours. Never heard of such a response from a doctor's office.
Dr. Margolis needs to place a most readable announcement outside of his office stating that older people are NOT welcome, that hard of hearing people are not welcome and bereaving people are not welcome. Such inconveniences are much beneath Dr. Margolis' time.
I don't think this guy is friendly with patients. Service is way overpriced! He is selling free samples to the patients- free eye drops for $30. Fish oil for $90!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
