David A. Jones's Online Review Report Card

As much as it pains me to write this review, I believe it's essential for potential patients to be aware of our experience with Dr. David Jones. If I could, I'd give a 0-star rating, not out of spite, but as a reflection of our genuine disappointment. Our journey with Dr. Jones began with my wife's gallbladder issue. Unfortunately, it took him two attempts to rectify the problem. This ordeal wasn't just a physical and emotional strain but also a financial burden, with copays and time off work adding to our distress. A year later, we entrusted him with my wife's hernia surgery, hoping for a better outcome. Regrettably, it was a misplaced trust. The surgery was unsuccessful, and upon confronting Dr. Jones, he acknowledged his mistake. While he offered to perform a second surgery at his expense, the trust was already broken. Seeking a second opinion, we were shocked to learn from another surgeon that the mesh Dr. Jones had used in the initial surgery had folded, rendering it ineffective. This discovery was both frustrating and alarming. I write this review not out of malice, but as a word of caution. It's crucial to thoroughly research and vet your surgeon. Our experience with Dr. Jones was disheartening, and I advise potential patients to consider other options. His track record, at least in our case, demonstrated a concerning lack of consistency and expertise, requiring multiple attempts for what should have been straightforward procedures.

Great bedside manner and excellent surgeon. Had emergency gallbladder surgery and later went back to repair a hernia. Great experiences both times.

I had to have emergency surgery and am glad Dr Jones was on call that night. He was able to make quick decisions that saved my life. He was able to explain what the surgery entailed with me and my family. I was able recover with no complications. I would highly recommend Dr Jones.

Technically he did a good job operating on my small bowel obstruction. Bedside manner terrible. He left everything to the residents and never talked to me. When I was in the ER, I asked if he was in my insurance plan. He refused to tell me and said he left that up to his office staff. It was 8pm so they were closed. My only choice was to go to another hospital but I needed emergency surgery. Turned out he was not in network and balance billed me. Terrible experience.

Dr. Jones took time to discuss my surgery beforehand, and answered all of my questions. My recovery went as expected, and as described by Dr. Jones.

I want to thank Dr. Jones, his resident’s, and wonderful staff at Sky Ridge. I had a conservative approach done a few year’s ago, and I had the same symptoms a few years later. I went into the emergency room and Dr. Jones and team had a quick diagnosis and was in the OR in no time. My incisions and recovering is going really well and I’m feeling relieved and so much better. I’d definitely recommend Dr. Jones for all surgical need’s.
