My experience with Aurora Denver Cardiology was not good. Dr. Herod and I had discussed and agreed that I would be scheduled for a Stress-Echo-Cardiogram. When I arrived for the test, I was instead given an 'At-Rest-Echo-Cardiogram'. So, I was given the wrong test, not what we had agreed to. In a follow-up visit, Dr. Herod agreed with me it was not the correct test, and that his office staff likely made a mistake when it was scheduled. However, they still sent me a bill - they want me to pay for the wrong procedure. I then called their office to dispute the bill, and now they're denying that they ordered the wrong procedure. I strongly do not recommend seeing Dr. Herod (a Cardiologist) or Aurora Denver Cardiology Associates, unless, of course, you want to pay high costs, both in dollars and for inadequate healthcare.

Great cardiologist! I never feel rushed when I’m asking questions. He always shares new ideas and trends with me. I feel it’s very collaborative, he really seems concerned with what I want to achieve as a patient as well rather than just telling me what I need to do. Highly recommend!

I'm a patient of Dr. Herod's and I'm writing this to counter someone's negative review because of not getting their mother's prescription filled. I've never had one issue getting a prescription filled and Dr. Herod has ALWAYS taken great care in being extremely thorough. He doesn't take any chances with patients. If there is family history, or any condition in question, I can assure, talking from patient experience, that he does what is right for each patient with genuine care and concern. I have not had one issue with a prescription or quick response when needed. Often times, prescriptions not being filled can either be due to insurance, or because the doctor needs to see the patient again to monitor their progress in order to ensure the prescription/recommended dosage is right for the patient. They have a tremendous amount of liability on their shoulders and they have to do what is right for the patient and their health. If there is any question about a prescription, make an appointment and questions will be answered.

I was referred to Dr. Herod by my Primary Doctor for high blood pressure spikes. He ordered an echocardiogram and carotid artery test. They came back normal, I continued to have HBP spikes just sitting. He told me he didn't want to run any more tests, as they would just find something and I needed to go to my Primary Care Doctor to get prescriptions for Anxiety and Depression!! I switched to a different cardiology practice and the new cardiologist immediately put me on 2 different blood pressure medications and told me I was in stroke territory. He ordered tests. I found out I have parathyroid issues making my blood pressure sky rocket for no reason because of high calcium. My blood pressure is now normal from the medications I've been prescribed by my new cardiologist. Look for a different Cardiologist as you won't get answers or help from Dr. Herod.

Dr. Herod was very helpful in explaining my condition. Sometimes doctors are in a hurry and rush through the appointment, then the patient is left with questions and unclear about what is happening to them. Dr. Herod is very knowledgeable, a great listener, and thorough. I would highly recommend!

I lost my heart doctor through retirement and was referred to Dr. Jerrell Herod as my future doctor. In the following appointments That I have had, I feel very satisfied with both Dr. Herod and his support staff. I highly recommend Dr. Herod for any heart issues.

Dr. Herod is an outstanding physician, great bed side manners and extremly knowlegeable and efficient. Dr Herod is a good listener and I feel very confident in his opinion and medical care he has provided. He is surrounded by an excellent, profesional staff which privides great customer service. If he promised to call you tomorrow with the answer to the question, then he will definitely do it. If you had a test, he will call you as soon as the result comes and explains everything in detail.
