The doctor was not a professional and did not know what disease I had, so he asked me to do a rectal examination and did not listen to my story at all. He had no professional ethics and slammed the door twice and was unable to treat me. He did not make it clear to me in advance that I wanted to see the swelling of my skin. I asked Dr. Blake MD to look at my local condition, but he refused to do so. I don't understand why a surgeon would agree to surgical treatment of my disease and his attitude was very bad.
I was very impressed with Dr. Blake. He listened well, seemed empathic and really concerned about discovering my issues. Not to mention, he's very personable.
This rating is more for the practice of SurgOne, but Yelp does not recognize it as a business in Lone Tree. I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes early as requested with all my paperwork done prior to arriving, also as requested. I then waited 25 minutes until I was brought back to the exam room where I waited another 35 minutes. No one ever had the courtesy to inform me that Dr. Blake was running late throughout my hour-long wait. I eventually left the exam room to talk with the office manager. She said the patient before me took longer than expected. I replied that it would be courteous to keep other patients informed of tardiness. She then asked if I'd like to reschedule my appointment. Heck NO! I then saw the doctor peek around the corner. He was done with the previous patient and did not come out to apologize. He retreated having heard the discussion. I suppose my time is not as important as his time. This was the second unfortunate experience at SurgOne in my family. My daughter saw Dr. Longcope a few years ago who dismissed her post-surgery abdominal pain far too long and she ended up in the emergency room with an obstructed bowel--life threatening. I will not return to SurgOne.
AMAZING!! Dr. Blake is my colorectal surgeon & I've had nothing but great experiences with him! He's a great person, great doctor, & a great surgeon. He performed my ileostomy surgery as well as many emergency surgeries due to bowel obstructions I've had. He's so kind, caring, & actually listens to his patients. He's easy to contact & is very trust worthy. Highly recommend him to everyone! He is very knowledgeable & has his work together
Dr. Blake has saved my wife from near death multiple times so it’s no wonder to us why he is such a well known and sought out Surgeon to both patients and fellow professionals. He can be a very direct in his communication approach, but he definitely has a heart of gold and is the medical professional you WANT to be caring for you in a time of need. Over the last 5 years, we’ve found that his supporting staff (including other doctors) have always spoke just as highly of him and treat him with UTMOST respect - which says a lot. Can’t thank him enough for all he’s done for our family!
I have never had such a strange experience visiting a doctor before in my life. I told Dr. Blake that I had a procedure done several years ago while in college and he was dismissive that it ever took place. He asked me "Do you have documentation on you at this time?" to which I replied no. He then proceeded to infer that I was either lying or had mistaken the procedure for another one. This probably could have been avoided, but I think Dr. Blake has a listening problem. He tends to talk at you, not to you. This was an initial consult and being dismissed and accused of lying by a professional who you are paying to see is totally unprofessional. Who would want to work with a doctor that takes this approach with his patients? I have cancelled my follow up and gone with another provider. I'm sure he's good at what he does but there's no sense in working with someone who doesn't listen to you and then questions your integrity.

I tried explaining my medical history and he seemed agitated. He examined me, let a resident in while my exam was taking place while I was in the exam table and my body was turned away from him. I did not even get to see the other doctor prior to this. Totally embarrassed and uncalled for
Not very personable and seemed like he was unconcerned. Would not recommend this doctor in the end..
I felt uncomfortable and not heard . I thought doctors were there to help you and not just take your money. I was very disappointed with Dr Blake

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
