Scott Tuchklaper's Online Review Report Card

I went to this Dental Office several years ago to get my teeth cleaned.While I was their they checked my teeth and said I needed a deep cleaning. No other provider either before or after has said I needed a deep cleaning.I told them not to the deep cleaning. AS a result of my answer they refused to do the normal cleaning I was supposed to get.I believe they try to upsell you to get you to spend more money your insurance may not cover.I don't reccomend this group.

Dr Scott Tuchklaper was great. He explained in detail what my dental needs and procedures were, was gentle in the mouth, and authentically friendly. The staff in the office and assistants were also friendly and helpful. I only waited a few minutes before being seen, and wanted to wait outdoors due to covid paranoia (I don't go anywhere indoors if I don't absolutely have to). A staff member came and got me from outside, which was very supportive for this cautious customer. Highly recommend this group!

I went to Orchard Dental Group for a regular teeth cleaning. I had been going there for about 3 years. It was taking a really long time (4 hours) to wait for a teeth cleaning that I had an appointment for. I could hear Tuchklaper with other patients saying, 'You need a crown and we can do that for you today.' By the time Tuchklaper got to me, he said I needed scaling at an additional cost. I said I'll pass for today and I just want a normal teeth cleaning. HE THEN SAID THAT I COULDN'T GET A REGULAR TEETH CLEANING IF I DIDN'T PAY FOR AN ADDITIONAL SCALING!!! I was literally in shock. I had to argue with him for 5 minutes until he "allowed" me to have a teeth cleaning. This dentist is so unethical and deplorable. Needless to say, I will never go back.

I will say this Dr T and his staff were very professional and provided good service, I have no complaints what so ever about the work done and the manner it was done. My issue is Dr T was very insistent that I needed a crown replaced on a tooth I was having a root canal done on. Dr Lowry (the root canal specialist) advised me that due to him drilling straight down I would not need it replaced. I am a single mom and really do not have money to be paying for a crown that I do not need replaced. I was going to take my kids to him but after he told the receptionist to book the appointment for the crown AFTER I told him I wanted to wait, I will not return. Don't insist that I need work that I don't need!
