List of Childrens Hospital Urgent Care Wheat Ridge's Reviews
Just received amazing care for my daughter’s allergic reaction. Thank you to all the staff we saw! Based on reading the other reviews I assume I’ll also be getting some crazy bills. Since my visit was for a possible serious reaction I won’t care too much as it would have been a ER visit otherwise. But I will think twice about going for something minor.
I am so bummed about this place! I really loved the proximity, pediatric focus, and really great care. However, their billing is outrageous and you'll be charged as an ER visit. "Emergency Room- general is $212.00" That is just the visit- literally going into a room and perhaps vitals. Everything else seeing the dr $200 and any tests is an up charge. Find another place to send your kiddo after hours. My bill is over $500 and my insurance isn't terrible.
Such a wonderful experience! The wait wasn’t bad at all (which I sort of come to expect for peds urgent care), front desk staff was so kind and the clinical staff couldn’t have been better with my daughter. Obviously, we never want to visit but I’m so glad to have this option close by.
Make sure you know that this urgent care will charge you both the urgent care copay and then the provider will also pay you a fee. I’ve spent hours on the phone with Children’s, my insurance, and CU medicine (they provide the providers here) to understand why an urgent care would also have me pay for the providers. When I spoke with one of the reps from Children’s billing, department, she was very matter-of-fact “yeah, they probably went over it really fast but they had you sign that you knew there were two different fees for the provider and the hospital.” I was at the front counter longer than my daughter and I were in with the doctor, so pretty sure they could have been a lot clearer. Also, I was not impressed with the doctor. For going to a specific place that works with kids, besides offering a popsicle that my child didn’t want, the visit was no different than going to a regular urgent care. The doctor was with us for not even ten minutes. If you’re just going for a strep test, etc, go to a regular urgent care. Definitely the first and last time I’ll go here. P.S. I’ll also note that in addition to the copay that I paid, Children’s tried to bill me another $90. When I called to ask why, they stated it was my insurance’s fault for coding it wrong, but deleted the charge as they knew I shouldn’t be paying them additional money. Giving two stars for the deleted charge I should not have been charged in the first place.
I hope to never visit this urgent care again. I will say that the staff and providers were friendly, but that's about it. The online check-in estimated a 30-minute wait, but we ended up waiting more than three hours to be seen. Then later I received two bills for the visit. One for the "facility fee" and one for the "provider fee." I have visited many urgent cares over years and never before received separate bills.
Outrageously expensive. I went to AFC Urgent care for a strep test for myself. $150. I took my kids here for a strep test. $756.23 for each kid! Unbelievable.
I will not be returning here. I waited over an hour and 15 minutes for my kid to be seen. I work in healthcare and to experience this kind of behavior is unacceptable. I was told they “ couldn’t give me an eta” after politely asking and then I was told AFTER WAITING AN HOUR, that it would be another hour wait due to other kiddos taking priority. You should NEVER ever make someone else feel as though their kid is not a priority regardless of the case. There needs to be some serious training to take place. I hope this clinic can correct it so that no one else has to experience this. Our children are our future and should be kept in consideration at all times.
We had a wonderful, efficient experience here with the receptionist, nurses, doctor and even the security guard!! Friendly, informative and helpful! Best situation you could ask for!
Brought my 23 month old here as she was having crazy head congestion and felt badly. I couldn't get her into our normal Dr for a few days and there was no way we could wait. The staff was amazing. From front desk, nurse and doctor, they all were so professional, kind and made me feel like we were at the right place. I got great advice and left with great checkout info and notes on what to do next. I seriously am so glad this place is located so close to my home. I wouldn't think twice about coming back if we needed. Thank you to the staff!
I'm so happy this place finally re-opened. This has always been my location of preference. Staff is amazing 👏🏼

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
