Been here three times. Abused, ignored, mistreated every single time.
Severley understaffed, how could the wait be 4 hours minimum at 10:30pm on a Monday night, Do not waste your time going here, theres nowhere to park, i was sick and could barely walk after driving around the block 3 times to find a parking spot then walk a half mile to get to the emergency room, then you have to sit in the waiting room for 4 hours minimum, while every drug addict in new haven gets there drug fix before a real sick person can even be seen. These people claim to want to help people, I find that hard to believe. This hospital is a disgrace to America. No thanks here to those essential workers, most there are good for nothing
Snotty, unprofessional and rude nurses. My father was here in december 2019 in the ICU and encountered rude and unprofessional nurses on multiple floors. They are understaffed and undertrained to treat the sickest people - even my at the time terminally ill father was treated with such disrespect IN THE ICU. They have no standard of care. Such people don't deserve to be in healthcare. Hope such "nurses" are treating people in the ICU with more respect during the pandemic.
They'll laugh at you.
Amazing. Everyone is really nice. The place was clean. Even the cafeteria is great.
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Don’t go here for an emergency or anything of that sort. My mom was in a terrible accident and they didn’t even numb her before stitching her. She kept saying she was in pain and they were SO ROUGH with her. On the other hand, they did NOT update us for HOURSSSSS. We were so worried, and had no idea whether she was fine or not, no update was given to us either, and they wouldn’t let anyone in to see her Bc or covid, worst experience ever. I understand there’s covid to think about, but there should be a better structure. I would never do that ever again and just hope that it doesn’t happen to the next person.
Went in at 3:34am with a fractured wrist (scaphoid) left at 8:54am with a cast. They told me they would be calling in a prescription asked for my local pharmacy and then they never even called in the prescription for "break through" pain releif. When I called them to ask if they would phone in my RX. They told me "no take Advil".
I am traumatized by my experience at Yale hospital starting with the ER following my week stay. I got into an accident on my motorcycle and fractured 4 vertebrae. The ER staff left me in excruciating pain and alone in a trauma room for hours. I had to scream for help but was ignored. I felt like I was a crazy person and in a twilight zone. When I got on the floor I had 2 wonderful nurses for 2 good days the rest of the time was complete neglect. My health started to decline and I'm young, so as soon as I knew I can walk and take care of myself I demanded to be discharged. The whole time I was told I only had 3 fractures. It wasn't until a week later I spoke with the neurosurgeon and they informed me I had 4 fractures. Even the neurosurgeon is a yale doctor And I'm 4 weeks out and I'm having trouble breathing and I know I'm not healing right and they still will not give me an appointment. My follow up appointment for them is 2 months later. I have lost complete faith in the Yale health system. They are extremely neglectful and I feel sorry for every single inpatient that has to stay there. I'm finding my own doctors outside of Yale! And they never even notified my family and when they called to check on me they lied and said they were looking at me and I was perfectly fine when the whole time I was in the trauma room I couldn't breathe and I was in excruciating pain. I begged to be transferred to Bridgeport hospital but they would not do it bc of my trauma level but if I was such a high level trauma why was I so neglected?!
I used Yale New Haven Hospital's LAZ Parking services while my wife and I were going to a pre-op appointment as we were expecting to deliver a baby the next day. I checked my car in valet, finished my appointment, got my car back and went home. At home I noticed a huge scrape/dent on my rear bumper that was not there. I immediately went back to Yale and filed a complaint/claim with LAZ Parking. The person that took my car originally said "I know for a fact that there wasn't any damage to your car when I took it". After completing the paperwork I was told by the manager that I would get a call from the claims department within 2-3 days. 5 days later, I have called the claims department several times, left voice messages, called customer service and can't get anyone on the phone. I called back the Yale location and a manager said my claim was denied because the damages were pre-existing. I asked for the photos of before I dropped off my car, but no one seem to be able to produce them. Then I called Yale New Haven Hospital complaint line and all they did was transfer me back to valet. This has been such an annoyance. I would not recommend their services at all. You get these young guys anxious to take off in your car and drive foolishly because your car is nice. Now I have to report a claim to my insurance because this dispicable company won't take accountability for their employees actions. Lastly, after consulting others, I found out that its not unusual for LAZ Parking employees to take your car joy riding around all of New Haven. Had I known this, I would have gladly parked my car at a meter and taken my chances there. No follow-up, falsifying claims, horrible business.Gary Sessions
My Father did his Medical Residency here. Now he is a Trauma Surgeon at UPMC.

I am seeing Dr. Sankey while a patient at Yale. What a wonderful empathetic Dr. Who listens to what the patient needs. I am so lucky to have him in charge of my care plan. He has made a very difficult situation easier to deal with. Thank you Dr. Sankey.

Dr. Sankey is a truly excellent physician. He diagnosed my problem and gave me great treatment. I feel he is very intelligent and kept me informed throughout my hospital stay. I would strongly recommend him to any of my family members
