David B. Burstein's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Burstein has performed 3 knee surgeries and 1 shoulder surgery on me, as well as several surgeries on my son's and 1 on my wife. His communication skills are excellent, he has been available, whenever we've needed him and his follow up after the procedures was was great. I recently had an accident and severed my patella tendon and broke my knee cap; Dr. Burstein saw me the very next morning and performed surgery on me a few days later. I'm about 14 weeks out, the tendon and knee have healed and I'm pain free with nearly full range of motion. Dr. Burstein is my family's "Go To Guy". We have been blessed to have him on our speed dial!

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience seeing Dr. Burstein as a patient. The first time I saw him, he told me i would be his easiest patient of the day and it showed by how quickly i was shuffled out of there…which bothered me because I was literally still asking him questions as I was being shown the door. I went in complaining about chronic muscle tightness in my calf mainly which was becoming very painful. He ordered an mri on my knee because of my past knee problems. The mri and other tests came back negative so I called dr burstein back complaining again about my calf. We did some more tests which came back negative(blood clot test) but i firmly believe they weren’t the right tests to be done. And If we were able to have a conversation about my chronic pain the first appointment rather than being quickly shuffled out of the office, it probably would’ve avoided all these unnecessary negative tests($1000+++ later). Im truly frustrated and will be getting a 2nd opinion since I still have the chronic pain

I injured my shoulder & was in a lot of pain. Dr Burstein stuck with me until he discovered the problem! He did not just jump right into surgery, as some may do, but he went through a complete diagnostic routine & because he listened to me, he discovered the problem. He has a good sense of humor, is caring and thorough. Also, he has a wonderful group of staff in his office. They are caring, professional & very helpful. Unfortunately, I’m just discovering now that Dr. Burstein also does hip replacement. I wish I had known this sooner!!

I called Dr. Burstein’s office from an urgent care center where I had just been diagnosed with a fractured metatarsal. He was recommended by the center. I was seen an hour later and his care and competence were evident in the first minute I was there. A surgeon, he is in no rush to get his patients to the OR if not necessary. I am impressed by him and others in his office - all very helpful and kind. He’s now in my contact list as a first consultation for orthopedic issues in the future. Dr. Burstein, thank you.

I've had a wonderful experience (despite meeting him as a patient, hence I was in pain) with Dr. Burstein, and I would highly recommend him for anyone requiring surgery! ... I recently required surgery on my knee, and simply by luck got him. I am telling you he is a great physician, as well as a caring person...these two things equate to an outstanding surgeon!

Clear explanations, excellent treatment, always has a smile

Dr. Burstein recently performed surgery on my knee. I've got to tell you, that as bad an experience (pain-wise/time-wise) as this has been, his care, compassion, and work ethic have exceeded my expectations, and made for a much easier experience. He has contacted me numerous times to see how I was feeling...I'll admit I've whined a few times, but he listened anyway. :-) I hope to NOT have surgery again, but it's nice knowing Dr. Burstein is there if I ever do...Thank you!

I recant my former review. He is an awesome doctor! He'd actually call me on his cell on his own time to see how I was and told I could call him at any time although I was respectful enough to leave him alone. He didn't have to do that but he did! If you're looking for atop notch orthopedist look no further!

Had two knee surgeries and one rotator cuff surgery with Dr. Burstein. He's the best. He has the best helpful listening skills and really cares about his patients. I'm going to cry when he finally retires. There are few doctors like him.

Wonderful doctors I had a knee surgery with them
