List of Alexis Matthew Demopoulos's Reviews
Dr. Demopoulos has been taking great care of my husband. Dr. Demopoulos is very caring and has an AWESOME bedside manner. He has taken the time to answer any questions we have had, has returned our phone calls quickly. My family has been Blessed to have him as my husband's dr.. Dr. Demopoulos is a very very knowledgeable dr,, he knows his stuff. I can't say enough wonderful things about him. But I want to say Dr. Demopoulos thank you so very much! God Bless you! Salvatore DiGrazia 's family
Dr. Demopoulos is purely a god. If he is your doctor, you hit the lottery. He has more intelligence in his pinky finger then most people will obtain in a lifetime. I had NO chance and he still gave me one. If you would like to have your best chance, this is the doctor to see. He gave me the most valuable thing on earth - TIME. He is a hero and a gentleman. If it wasn't for him I would be 6 feet deep. Do you need to know anything else?
I know dr Demopoulos for 18 years. He is very knowledgeable, attentive and professional. Highly recommend!
If I could give zero stars, and take back the experience, I would. A few months ago my father lay in a hospital bed at around 7am as he suffered through his last weeks of cancer. I was grateful he had slept somewhat through the night (he had been given three bouts of morphine to quell some of his pain). Several doctors made their rounds to see him which we didn't specifically request, but now in retrospect I understand how doctors make money. Anyhow this doctor came into my father's room at 7am. I spent every night in the hospital with him and when he came I tried to motion to him that he was sleeping (at this point like I said every minute he had that wasn't awake and in pain, we were thankful for). I tried to motion to him politely that we step out of the room and speak outside but he completely ignored my requests and bulldozed on with waking my father up and questioning him. When he accomplished that, he began to belittle my father and tell him that Perhaps he was confused and my father replied "in perfectly fine but maybe your are the one that is confused ". Eventually at some point he agreed to come outside of the room, where he proceeded to insult ME. Now that it has been months since my father passed, I would not hesitate to spit in this "doctor's" face. He is not only a poor excuse for a doctor but a poor excuse of a human being. Zero compassion or care. If God forbid you need oncological care, stay away. There is also another female Indian oncological doctor at northwell long island who is horrible - decline her care and get another doctor for your loved one. Northwell in general was fine but I wish we had gone to a specialty hospital like sloan - maybe it would have been better
Doctor Demopoulos is a Miracle worker in my eyes second to the lord above. My husband had PML of the brain didn't have much hope of serving until Dr Demopoulos came into our lives, He developed a Cocktail and they treated my husband for a year with two infusions every three weeks, And now My husband is now Cured and back to normal. Thanks to this wonderful Man. I will forever be grateful to you and your entire staff and North Shore Hospital .
They deserve no stars The most unprofessional team First day receptionist wasn’t even at her desk for one hour Second day appointment was at 11:30 ...it’s 12:30 and i am still seating in waiting room Why book 20 patients when you are not capable to handle 5 patients As much as your time is important as a doctor are time is precious as well
Very competent. Takes his time to explain everything. Has a quirky personality that lightens up the mood. You do not feel rushed and all your questions will be properly answered.
I agree with the previous review. He is terrible. During the appointment I asked him how to reach him if I have a question. His response "learn to write down the questions for next appointment". So if I am were to do chemotherapy with him I could not ask him any questions during my treatment. Dr. Demopoulos responses was to call his long island office. When I asked him for the number he did not know it. He refused to provide me his email address. Very unapproachable.
Horrible. Has no idea what he is doing. It seems that he enjoys giving bad news. He will state one treatment plan during the consultation but will call you and change it the following week. He will also tell you that you need to come often so the hospital will see that he is "actually" working. Otherwise he stated the hospital will find him something else to do. Are you kidding me? So a brain tumor patient needs to be dragged to additional appointments so god forbidden he will not be assigned something else. He will also leave in the middle of an appointment to type for 30 minutes. I would avoid him at all cost.
My husband & I couldn't have gotten a better Dr. when we got Dr. D. He is a very caring man that does not stop until he is satisfied with the results. My husband has complete faith in how he handles his brain tumor. We are totally in his debt for how he took such good care of him. Our prayers include Dr. D every night in thanksgiving for all he has done for us.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
