Dr. Cha and his staff are very professional. Follow all the rules of making sure your health is being taken care of first! A quiet atmosphere for discussing your health situation which in turn allows you to feel more comfortable
Dr. Iannuzzi, Dr. Berard, Dr. Cha, Dr. McKelvey, Dr. Squitterri saved my life you cannot find a better team of Doctors at any Hospital in any State any where... This is the best team in Northeastern United States...
Ostemy reversal surgery
I found out that I had a Neuroendocrine Tumor on my pancreas. My hematologist recommended Dr. Cha to me. From our first visit to our many, many visits after that, Dr. Cha has remained knowledgable, reassuring, kind, professional, patient, and sympathetic. On November 30, 2021, Dr. Cha performed a Whipple Surgery on me to remove the tumor and a bit of my pancreas. Before the surgery, Dr. Cha reviewed the whole surgery me. He patiently answered all my questions. After the surgery, I had some complications due to the recovery time of my body. This kept me in the hospital for 14 days. Dr. Cha personally checked in with me every day. He was again patient, supportive and respectful. Dr. Cha concerned about my physical health, but also my mental health. I am now 8 weeks out of surgery. I am extremely lucky that I am cancer free and recovering ahead of schedule. I feel extremely fortunate that Dr. Cha was my surgeon. I can not thank him enough for his wonderful care and professionalism.
Dr Cha and his staff are the most professional, knowledgeable, concerned, and caring people. They are helping me through a very dark time. I am confident that they are going to do whatever it takes to help me. When I first consulted with Dr Cha in his office my 2 sons and 1 daughter were on conference call listening to the conversation between Dr Cha and myself. Dr Cha asked them if they had any questions or comments including them in the discussion. When I arrived back home after consultation my sons and daughter called on the phone with praise for my choice of Dr Cha unanimously. This decision was made after we had consulted with other Doctors as well. As I progress through my treatment I am very comfortable with selecting Dr Cha and his staff. I made the right choice.
From my experience with Dr.Cha I have no doubt that he has to be the most skilled surgeon for performing surgery for pancreatic cancer. But to me what is at least as important as his qualifications, is his approach in interacting with his patients. Dr. Cha treats the whole patient, not only the physical part, but also our concerns, fears, and hopes. He takes the time to explain what is happening, answers questions, and is there whenever you need him. You have no doubt in your mind, after meeting with him, that he truly cares about you as a person. I was truly blessed that I had Dr.Cha as my doctor and highly recommend him to anyone who has to have surgery. He helped me immensely. You could not do better.
Dr. Charles Cha is an outstanding 5-Star plus oncology surgeon! In early 2021, I was diagnosed with stage II pancreatic cancer, and was deemed resectable (surgical removal was possible). I researched Whipple surgery and contacted Pancan.org for information: “Pancreatic surgery is very complicated. Data show high volume surgeons at high volume hospitals have higher success rates and fewer complications. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network strongly recommends you have a high volume pancreatic surgeon (more than 15 surgeries per year) perform the surgery.” Dr. Cha has great depth of EXPERIENCE with pancreatic surgery, and the Whipple procedure. Pancan listed him as one of 7 high-volume pancreatic surgeons in Connecticut. Yale has the highest hospital volume [83] in CT. In Oct 2020, after 17 years at Yale, Dr. Cha moved to St. Vincent’s Medical Center as Chief of Surgical Oncology. He performed many of Yale’s 83 surgeries. At my initial consultation, Dr. Cha thoroughly reviewed my imaging results, using everyday language (vs medical jargon), as he pointed out relevant details, possible concerns along with his view of their impact. The COMMUNICATION centered on me, my cancer, my surgery outlook. Not on statistical outcomes. Dr. Cha is warm, confident and engaging. A visit with Dr. Cha is never rushed. He encourages questions and takes whatever time is needed. He is clearly and calmly focused on you. Dr. Cha has a PATIENT FOCUSED mission: to provide the best possible oncology care for each individual. He listens intently to your concerns, goals, preferences. His care is customized to the patient, NOT a one size fits all approach. His surgical oncology team is like a family, and I became part of that family. His team took great care of me. I was treated warmly by everyone - administrative staff, medical staff and Dr. Cha. Warmth is contagious there. From our first meeting, Dr. Cha inspired my CONFIDENCE. I had no doubt - Dr. Cha will perform my Whipple surgery. I never had surgery before. Whipple is a major surgery! Yet, the night before, I honestly was not anxious. No problem getting to sleep. I knew that I was in great hands. I was confident that the surgery would go well. It did! I am so fortunate to have been in the care of this amazing man. I feel that he has saved my life. He is a very unique surgeon: experienced, skilled, great communicator, and very much a people person. He also has visionary administrative skills. You can trust him. You will be well cared for. He is the best!
I researched physicians before selecting Dr. Cha. My husband was admitted to the ER for abdominal pain and was told that he had to have his gallbladder removed. Several of his maternal aunts and uncles passed away from various stomach cancers so I was particular about finding the appropriate doctor to ensure he was going to be in ideal care... A physician with Yale validated my choice and Dr. Cha was outstanding from the beginning! His bedside manner was superior! He showed us a large diagram of the organs, prior to the surgery, made sure we had every answer to every possible question. My husband was more relaxed prior to the procedure than I was, and Dr, Cha came out to make sure I was fine after he completed the procedure! I have never felt so entirely pleased And comfortable with the doctor and Staff! His entire staff was wonderful and we've never encountered an entire team to be so wonderful! My husband's surgery was a month ago I'm remembering to write this review now! Tremendous!

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
