Dr. Coutinho is my hero miracle worker! Three Neurosurgeons from other hospitals refused to operate on my poor strangled spinal cord. I couldn’t walk or use my hands when I heard about Westport Spinal Wellness. I saw Dr. Coutinho who explained that if I didn’t have surgery, I wouldn’t be able to do anything in a few years! He also told me he had done this surgery over two hundred times. I had complete confidence in him and agreed to the surgery. Today, I am walking and am able to use my hands. This last visit was a follow up after nine months. He told me the fusion was healed so I should start physical therapy for eight weeks for neck range of motion which I am doing. I have recommended Dr. Coutinho and St. Vincent’s Hospital to many people. I would not hesitate for him to operate on me again if it were necessary!

Everyone in the office was very nice to me. Doctor Coutinho took time to explain everything that was going on. He always listen to what I think and tells me what to expect. I recommend him to everyone. I thought I was never going to walk 🚶♂️ or stand again. He and his team have helped me so much.

Had a scheduled consult today with Dr. Abbed's PA, Heidi Walberg, who was great and asked Dr. Coutinho to spend time with me (I didn't expect to meet with Dr. Abbed for the initial visit, so this was a pleasant surprise). Dr. Coutinho provided more insight to my condition and treatment/surgical options than I have had to date and I cannot say enough about how thorough (and not at all rushed) the interaction was. As I type this review, I anticipate additional consultation early next week and the likelihood of proceeding with HHC's Westport practice.
