Joseph Digiovanni's Online Review Report Card

Dr DiGiovanni was the doctor who helped fix my daughter's wrists after 3 surgeries from a previous ortho that did not work. We loved and trusted him. When my daughter started having other issues he brushed her off. As her left shoulder got worse he eventually did an MRI (without contrast) and told her she was fine and do PT. When she went back again in pain he said there was nothing he could do. Fast forward THREE years and a handful more orthopedic doctors who continued to tell her to do PT (which wasn't working) Her amazing PT suspected she had a tear in her shoulder and recommended she get an MRI Arthrogram to look further. At this time, she requested her records from OrthoCT and that was when we saw in 2019 a tear was suspected in her shoulder. (although we were never told and they did nothing with this information) After years of pain and being blown off it was confirmed she has a labral tear. I am VERY disappointed and angered that no one listened.

I am sorry to say Dr. DiGiovanni is not a certified hand surgeon, he specializes in hand surgery, there’s a difference. I had hand surgery several years ago unfortunately, my right hand has never been the same. I cannot make a fist, bend my fingers or my joints not to mention, the constant pain daily. I do not recommend Dr. DiGiovanni for hand surgery!

A motorcycle accident left me with a shattered forearm. I had nine breaks in the ulna and one in the radius. Everything was lined up perfectly and it healed 100%. I cant say enough about this guys skills.

I love OrthoConnecticut is the best. Dr. DiGiovanni is such a great MD my experience was excellent. I recommend this place to anyone that needs their assistance. Thank you OrthoConnecticut for being so helpful and kind

My son still talks about how great Dr. D. is! Great doc and human being! Fixed up my son's arm when he was little and he became the doctor my son measured all others by!

Dr DiGiovanni is the best Orthopedic Surg Specialist. His staff is outstanding.I have know this Dr. for over 17years. I trust him and respect his knowledge in his field.I have had many surgeries all 100% outcome.There should be more Drs that are up to his caliber.Thank you Dr DiGiovanniFCGDANO

Excellent and professional orthopedic physician. He specializes in upper extremity surgeries/care. Reads films carefully and explains fully all aspects of care. Answers any and all questions. He has helped me with 3 surgeries that I needed. Great follow-up care and also performs steroid joint pain injections if needed. Kim is his administrative assistant for as long as I’ve known them. Also just as professional and personable as Dr DiGiovanni. Knowledgeable , well versed with insurances, scheduling and tying things together. Dr DiGiovanni is one of a few best orthopedic surgeons I’ve come to know.

Dr. DiGiovanni has performed already 5 surgeries on me with more to come. That I go back to him each time speaks to my high regard for his skills. It's important to understand that, due to his excellent reputation, he is in high demand, and he tries to give the appropriate amount of time to each specific condition. He is highly collaborative with patients, other physicians, and his PA, Felicia. N.B.- He does not leave you primarily with a PA and then come in for 30 seconds. He will leave you with the PA only to remove sutures and to make sure everything is working the way it should. And for those to whom it matters, he is an exceptionally nice guy.

I have been to him for 5 different surgeries with more to come. For other ortho issues, I'll go to HSS, but for hands and arms, Dr. Di Giovanni is as good as you'll find anywhere.
