Steven Gorelick's Online Review Report Card

In my 74, after the colonoscopy procedure I fill great! Very happy to have Dr. Gorelick as my surgeon. Thank you, doctor!

Dr. Gorelick is a breath of fresh air. Ive had a string of health issues over the last 10 years and have seen 20+ doctors, none of them as kind and patient as Dr. Gorelick. He never made me feel rushed and made sure I felt heard when describing my ongoing symptoms, despite looking perfectly healthy on paper and having all negative test results. He vowed to get to the bottom of my symptoms, and left me feeling cared for and looked after. Extremely rare these days.

Yesterday was my first visit with Dr. Gorelick and he clearly had reviewed and absorbed my extensive medical history in advance. His approach was thorough and very sensible; I am totally satisfied with his examination and his treatment plan. On top of his professional competence he treated me as a person, not just a patient, considering my preferences and objectives. He was just a few minutes late for my appointment and he actually apologized for his delay - that's the first time I have experienced any doctor doing that! His clinical report was posted to the patent portal by the time I got home and he also texted to let me know he had ordered my prescription from my pharmacy. It is a relief to know that he will be involved in my future care.

I went to the ER month and stayed fir 6 days. Upon arriving, my diagnosis was a mystery (although I had clearly diagnosed myself - I KNOW Dr Web MD personally😉. Turns out I had very low hemoglobin. VERY low, so Dr Stephan Gorelick did my endoscopy (on the holiday$, ordered transfusions and meds but no surgery.or procedure . I pulled through -obviously- and will follow-up. I went to his brother Dr Adam Gorelick 5 years ago for an ulcer as well. Dr S.G was simply wonderful. Not only did I trust him almost immediately with my care, but he’s one of the kindest physicians I’ve ever experienced in ANY field. I DO NOT go the doctor because.. most doctors and I clash, and the large majority have attitudes, or maybe egos that rub me the wrong way. So I just stop going- it’s sadly what I do. And often I end up in the ER sometime later.. I need to make an important point and then I’ll send this. I clearly inflicted this problem upon myself. First by taking OTC pain relievers when I KNEW they have caused ulcers in the past. Secondly, I was living with unbearable pain in the months leading up to my ER visit. I knew something was VERY wrong and it was. I had 4.8 hemoglobin and I walked in the door myself . BUT I didn’t seek help until I was in that critical condition. I actually though my I’d die first And this is ALL due to Dr Stephan Gorelicks COMPLETE credit, along with the other members of the GI team at Danbury, as he did not ONCE utter a word “blamIng” me. He made NO attempt to shame me for not taking better care of myself. You have NO idea how that probably saved my life- and I don’t just mean physically. I felt bad enough after putting my family through all of that💙. Thank you for your rare kindness. Doesn’t happen routinely in healthcare. Sincerely, Mary Kay (oh, and k had a GREAT nap🙏🏻

He’s the BEST. He takes the time to make you feel better and talks and listens to you. He’s been my doctor since 2010. And now my husband goes to him as well.
