List of Jonathan Stein's Reviews
Dr. Jonathan Stein has to be the most miserable, jaded, cynical, know-it-all and opinionated doctor I ever have had the deepest displeasure of knowing. He is impatient, rude, arrogant, unwelcoming, takes sub zero time to explain surgery, surgery plan. Can’t remember discussions of prior visits over mission critical pre and post surgical details. He gossips behind patients backs within ear shot with his own staff. Completely unprofessional. Surgically, he is very rough. He seems to have contempt for his patients. Why he is in this field of medicine is beyond my comprehension. He has absolutely no bed side manner. You will walk out far more confused then when you went in. Because of his lack of explanation alone, is enough to avoid this doctor. These are your eyes. Don’t let him touch them. There are far better, more experienced, and compassionate surgeons to be found. Please look elsewhere.

Zero compassion, did not answer questions and said, “Can you stop with all the drama.” When trying to explain all the horrible side effects after having one eye done. Could not see out of eye for weeks, had to go to another doctor to fix botched job. They then sent a second bill for the second eye which I obviously never did. Worst medical experience ever. Avoid like the plague!

Dr. Stein was professional and personable. No issues after lasik or cataract surgery. Front desk staff could you a lesson in kindness.
Horrible experience at Fairfield location today. Did not get to see the Dr. Upon check-in I was handed 5 pages of paperwork. I had a broken shoulder surgically repaired last week, my dominant/writing hand. My arm is immobilized. I asked if there was another way I could provide the information because I was left-handed and would have trouble filling out the paperwork. The person I was speaking to went around the corner to ask someone else and I heard her say 'he can fill it out with his right hand.' I walked around the corner and said, 'you've got to be kidding me, there's no other way I can provide this information to you? What if someone has a disability, how would they do this?' The response was 'Their aid would fill it out.' I just took my insurance card and id and left while saying, 'or perhaps you could have provided the paperwork in advance, provide it electronically, or let me answer the questions verbally like every other office has been able to do.' I've had multiple first-time office visits in the past few weeks due to the broken shoulder. Very hard for me to politely explain how obnoxious and unnecessarily rude this was. Not to mention how out of line the response to the disability question was.
Dr. Stein barely acknowledged me when he entered the room. No pleasantries or introduction. Flipped through my chart/records so quickly I don't know how there would be time to process the information. He gave off the air of trying to rush through. I didn't feel explanation of procedure was completely clear. Spent more time on cost than procedure. He seemed almost irritated when I asked questions. I had recently seen a retinal surgeon in the area who had corrected a retinal issue for me who was completely the opposite. Caring and taking the time to explain everything clearly. So I was particularly put off by Dr. Stein in comparison. He may (or may not) be a good eye surgeon but I will not entrust him with my eyesight or money. 2 Stars for nice support staff and clean office.
Thank you Dr. Stein and staff for the wonder care and treatment during both of my cataract surgery. You and your team are the best.Thank you and GOD bless.
This Dr performed my Lasik surgery. I have returned annually for checkups for my lifetime guarantee through 2017. In 2017, this Dr. Stein decided he didn't want to see me because he wanted to see patients who needed surgery. I paid you almost $5K in 2010 for my Lasik surgery lifetime guarantee that. requires annual eye exams. FOR PROFIT ONLY? Dr Stein sent me to his associate who just called to cancel my appointment because he won't be in office that day. UGHHH

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
