Robert Dawe's Online Review Report Card

This man fused 3 thoracic vertebrae in 2002. 1991 I was heliported to Hartford Hospital for months in traction.Almost 8 years later I broke 2 more vertebre. It's 2022 and I'm 53 and I'm as strong and agile as 1991 before I broke the 1st Vertebrae & I climb trees and lift logs heavier than me. Feel like I orw this man & even Hartford Hospital from 1991 my life

I do not know why these reviews for Dr. Dawe are so low. I have been his pt since I was an infant. He treated me for bilateral clubbed feet. He gave me the ability to walk normally as a child, and now as an adult. He know's his specialty like no other. I highly recommend him and OSG to anyone having any ortho issues. If my baby ever needed to see an ortho, he'd be the guy!

I was in a car accident @19 broken t7 &t8 of my spine. Dr. Dawe came to my rescue bc at the first hospital I was told i was fine & could go home. It wasn't until I was transferred to bpt & Dr. Dawe took charge I wouldn't be walking if it wasn't for him. Yes he has a terrible bedside manner but he is very very knowledgeable & good at what he does. I'll take his attitude any day. Best spinal surgeon around!

I don't doubt this doc knows his stuff, but he has zero people skills and an unprofessional manner. We will be getting our follow up care elsewhere.

I agree with earlier comments. He was rude, and made me feel like the issues I am having are completely insignificant and a waste of his time. I was in his office for five minutes and he did nothing but insult me the entire time. He barely looked at my MRI results, and proceeded to look me up and down from head to toe, telling me in so many words that my back pain is a result of me being lazy and overweight, both of which aren't even true. I was hurt and offended, because I am someone who works hard to maintain good health, and barely ever seek medical attention unless it is absolutely necessary. Without question, I will be seeing a new doctor that will hopefully help me with my problem instead of makings their punching bag for the day.

Dr Dawe was not positive in the least and was very cold and gruff when describing my back issue. Was very negative and didn't give me any hope or optimism. Was surprised that my genetic arthritis was as advanced as it was for my age- under 60. Actually quite condescending and made me very upset. I won't go back and will not recommend him to anyone who asks me.

Had one consultation with the doctor who was rather rude and sarcastic as though he was doing me the big favor by seeing me, and when I left I felt a little confused and upset. Subsequently had two therapy sessions in which nothing much was done except the use of a heating pad. Appointment times were changed often, which was very inconvenient for me. Felt like there was no planning and no real consideration for the pain I was in. I'll never go back there; it was a waste of time.

Dr. Dawe was cold during our first meeting and ended it rather rudely. I left there actually feeling upset. A few weeks later I heard from the therapy staff and have now had two appointments wherein nothing happened but lying down for 20 minutes with a heating pad, which I do at home for free. And I have had no followup from Dr. Dawe.

My 11 year old was diagnosed with Scoliosis. Dr. Dawe reviewed the xrays with me, explained the treatment and answered my questions. I did not feel rushed. The staff was very accomodating with my request. I don't feel the wait was excessively long. He was highly recommended by my pediatrician.

This dr and practice is not worth your time. I had a 10:15 appt. and was not seen until after 11 and then had to wait another 40min for an xray. The Dr. did an awful job in describing the issue and then proscribed a anti=inflamatory drug that was not compatible with other drugs he knew I was taking. His concern for the patient in my opinion was non-existent. I subsequently went to another Orthopedic Dr. whose diagnosis was different from Dr. Dawes and his recommended method of treatment resolved the problem.
