D. Matthew Bushley's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Bushley operated and treated my corneal transplants for years. He is patience, kind and listens to his patients concerns. His knowledge and skills allows me to trust him to care for my eyes. When necessary he has seen me on Saturdays when the office is closed. Dr Bushley's care allows me to have my best vision.

The person from West Hartford that left a review about United Healthcare and a deceptive practice is correct. The issue is not about the service provided by the physicians. It is about service not considered medical. That is, while Dr. Bushley and this entire practice are in the UHC Network, they are only in network as opthomalogists, providing physician/medical services. When you book an annual, you are first taken to a room in the office for an eye reading exam by a group of technicians who are NOT physicians nor in network. This is totally deceptive, since Consulting Ophthamologists as a practice is in network and you book through Consulting Ophthamologists pratice. What you don't know is that the eye reading exam is not booked nor billed under Consulting Ophthamologists. It is not a covered service. This practice should work with UHC to make all the services offered through their office "in network," including the eye reading exam portion of the annual vision exam.

Can't say enough good about Dr. Bushley. He is kind, caring, professional and knows his stuff! I wouldn't trust my eyes with any other Dr. He really has his patients' best interest at heart. Thank you, Dr. Bushley, for being so awesome!

Dr. Bushley is great. The office staff, however is not. AND the last appt I had with Dr. Bushley, I was left waiting for AN HOUR! They are extremely overbooked and you will be left waiting for a long time to see anyone. They give the impression that they only care about the $$ and not you. Not friendly or helpful. The receptionist barked at me. They are obviously under a great deal of stress, but don't take it out on your patients. Am looking for a new office.

i'm a patient of dr bushley but today i was helped by TONY. i was given an appt on short notice (by shirley), seen quickly when i got to the office and was given thorough and competent care by Tony. He earned my trust quickly and was solution oriented in my treatment. i believe Tony cared about my vision and eye health. i would recommend him in an instant!

Dr. Bushley is an in-network provider at United Health Care Complete where he is listed as an Ophthalmologist. But, in fact, if you visit him for a routine eye exam, which is covered by United Health Care Complete, your coverage will be denied because even though he is an ophthalmologist, his services are only covered as a physician. This is extremely deceptive in my opinion and I question the ethics of this situation.

I first came to Dr Bushley when I was suffering from Iritis. My first Dr was very arrogant and was put off that I asked any questions. Dr Bushley was the polar opposite and my eye cleared up A couple of years later, I had cataract surgery in both eyes, and I was amazed the clarity I gained...I am an artist and clear vision is important.

Dr. Bushley is a very thorough and professional Doctor. He was willing to give me another cornea transplant with no guarantees, yet he had some optimism. The result, although not one hundred percent, was the most successful one I have had. He is the third doctor to analyze and help me withy mt concerns. He is the best one in all areas.
