Jeffrey Spiro's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Spiro has been caring for my husband for oral cancer for several years now. He has been an incredible source of information, has stayed on top of the situation- following him closely every month. His professional manner is efficient, informative, and always appreciated. We're very happy with the work Dr. Spiro has done for us over the last few years - we anticipate many more years of care with him.

I wish I could give him no stars!!! He is possibly the WORST doctor I have ever met!!! My girlfriend has been going to him for 10 years for cancer on her tongue. He only ever did small surgeries to remove what cancer he could see WITH THE NAKED EYE!!!! Anyone with any sense knows once you can see cancer with the naked eye, it's already gone to far and you need to be sure on a MICROSCOPIC level that it is gone. Also, because he let this go so long, her survival rate has dropped drastically. She is now going for treatment with Yale and now has to have a partial glossectomy and lymph node removal from the same side. If you are EVER referred to Dr. Jeffery Spiro from the UConn hospital in Farmington, CT, do yourself a favor and find another doctor because he doesn't care about his patients and probably will let you suffer or possibly die!

kept insisting that I'm fine and didn't listen to my concerns /symptoms I was experiencing . was very rude to me because i was a few minutes late because I got lost trying to find the new office at UCONN. but he made me wait 40 min for him to see me so being on time wouldn't have mattered anyway. went to get a second opinion with another doctor and they said that I have a deviated septum and need surgery. I've been experiencing nose bleeds and heavy allergies/ sinus infection because of it . so im never going back to dr.spiro again . he basically shrugged me off and barely was in the room for more than 2 minutes

He make me feel stupid because only stupid can believe anything people said.My primary doctor send me to him because I have a lymph node on my neck at the gland area, after MRI it shows the lymph node is about 1.2 cm. He can tell me that since the size is still small so he prefer we just observe, if it double in size quick then we should do biopsy. Instead he told me that the lump I see is just a tail gland, it is just a normal lymph nodes. The lump on my neck is there for 3 months or more. From when i feel it until I see it and I can show it to my primary doctor during annual checkup it has to be more than 6 months. Can a normal lymph nodes from any infection stay that long? Do I have the infection that long without any other symptoms?

Is Jeffrey Spiro the worlds warmest person? Probably not. Is the worlds warmest person going to make you FEEL better? Maybe. Is the worlds warmest person going to MAKE you better? Not so much. Spiro isnt there to make you his friend; hes there to get you well. Whether or not he ever cared about me as human being, I cannot say for sure (though I think he did; conveying that his not his greatest strength). What he did do was lead his team (heck, even some of them didnt LIKE him, so what?), through the program that saw me safely through the protocol that left me cancerfree for more than seven years and counting. Sorry, whiners, that is what you really want from your doc, not a ready smile.

He was nothing great to be honest. He just brushed me off without really asking me any questions or talking toMe. I wouldnt ever recommend him to anyone. Theres better doctors out there, trust me.

I have been seeing Dr.Spiro since 1992,he operated on my throat cancer.I have been cancer free since. My family goes to him also.He is the best at what he does in every way.
