List of Paul Murray's Reviews
The staff is very friendly. Never a long wait. I'm doing very well after my surgery. Dr. Alex is very informative and kind. Dr Murray spoke to me the morning of my procedure and was very reassuring. If I ever need my other hip replaced, they will be the first place I call.
Dr. Murray replaced both knees (two months apart) and I recommend him if you need similar procedures.
W hen to Dr. Murray with my two knees did one in 2022 great results, did the next one in March 2023 now recovering great best surgeon ever friendly always finding out about his patients
Dr Murray replaced my left knee in 2007. He is an outstanding surgeon, no doubt, and I am doing great - the replacement was life changing!! It’s been 16 years and I am very happy. Other reviewers have said that he had a good bedside manner; in my experience he was arrogant and brisk. I’m very hopeful his bedside manner has matured with time.
Dr Murray has a communication skill far above any other Dr. I’ve seen. He knows how to talk to non-doctors.
Had bilateral knee replacements by Dr Murray with great success! Dr Murray and his team are excellent! Highly recommend.
I had my first complete right knee replacement in 2021. It did not work. I was in constant pain and couldn't put my foot on the ground without intense pain. I had my second complete right knee replacement almost one year to the day after. The difference was night & day. I do not believe the failed first surgery was due to the doctor, but rather the equipment. The second surgery was without the silicone piece and I was literally able to dance the jig in the doctor's office three weeks after surgery! It's now been 3 months and I walk almost completely normal - the cold in the morning bothers me and I just need to do my stretches and I'm good. Dr. Murray is all business. His APRN Alex is excellent for listening and offering words of encouragement.
UPDATED CONCLUSIONS Dr. Murray, Alex and MOST of the medical staff I've interacted with at the office are such an AMAZING group of kind, compassionate and genuinely great people. Almost everyone there are so friendly and sweet. I was very nervous about getting my first total hip replacement. But they made it such a great and smooth experience. I already recommended Dr. Murray to my mom and anyone in need of a Orthopedic Surgeon! Hands down the best doctor and team, I've experienced EVER. Highly recommended. 1.5 year Update Conclusion: After getting this hip replacement from Dr. Murray all I can say is definitely do your research and visit some other doctors as well before jumping into surgery with Dr. Murray. Personally, this has been the most terrible year and a half post surgery. I opted into doing extended physical therapy and still walk with with a limp and also still have A LOT of pain in my whole femur down to the knee rather then before surgery, it was just the femoral head (Hip) . My nerves have not properly healed, so I have no feeling in the hip to touch, I have super bad spasms were the hip kind of pops in and out of the socket if I turn my leg a certain way, and I still am unable to lay on the hip. After a year it still gets EXTREMELY swollen which is VERY noticable I also have a lump at the site were they cut into. I was told I would be able to return to dancing/gymnastics, and competitive horse back riding I am still unable to do any of those things and had to give up my scholarships. After the surgery is complete I've followed up a few times and they basically tell you "your fine. Looks great bye" and dismiss you. I've had a few issues with the new hip, and had to go to the hospital for it several times and they pretty much stop caring. They did the surgery got they're money and they're done. Its about time for my opposing hip to be replaced and Im to tramatized from the first to get it done, even if I did it would most likely be with a different surgeon. So definitely look into all your options, see other doctors and read reviews. I'm 27 and it's just a shame I had to give up so much, even though they said I'll be good as new.. Keri E.
When I was told I needed my first full knee replacement, we researched doctors and chose Dr. Murray. I liked that he was on the cutting edge - the first doctor in Connecticut to use robotic assist for knee replacement surgery. I appreciated the technology and accuracy of that procedure. My wife and I live in New Milford but we’re willing to travel to Hartford to see him and feel that the trip is worth our time to have such an experienced, skilled and personable doctor. He did a great job on my first knee and when it was time to have my other knee replaced four years later, of course, I went back to Dr. Murray. Again, a very successful and positive experience. I am thankful to have had him as my doctor and would recommend him to anyone needing a knee replacement.
Outstanding surgeon, very patient, considerate and will always work to get the best results. The office staff goes above and beyond to help you in every way . The new Farmington location is easy access and very convenient for any mobility issues.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
