Steven Reiner's Online Review Report Card

I had my last 3 wisdom teeth removed in the beginning of January on a Friday. That afternoon I called about bleeding in my mouth and I was told it was normal and I'd be fine. By 8pm that night I needed to call the on-call Dr as my bleeding wasn't stopping. I was advised to go to the emergency room so I went to the closest er available, Rockville general hospital. The hospital failed to stop my bleeding after 4 hours there and I was discharged. After my discharge I called the on-call Dr again who didn't answer, this is at 1am. At 6am I needed to call the on-call Dr again because no one returned my call. I was then asked why I didn't go to St Vincent hospital like I was supposed to know to go there. I went to st Vincent hospital at 6am and they stopped my bleeding. On Monday I called Dr Reiner again because the bleeding started again, he said he couldn't see my and I would need to go back to the er for a 3rd time. They stopped the bleeding again. Finally on Tuesday morning Dr Reiner was able to see me in his office. He treated me like I was crazy for making a big deal about the bleeding and told me I was fine. Now after spending over $2,000 for the wisdom teeth removal I need to pay a $1,000 in hospital bills after insurance covers their share. Great surgeon as long as you don't have any issues.

He took my teeth out sure... but both times I was there he was rude, during the consultation he was shouting my personal info and habits through the office with patients in the waiting room hearing my main struggles in life (private stuff). I asked him to shut the door and he didn't seem happy about it and rolled his eyes and shook his head as if I'm asking for a lot, then the nurse ended up shutting the door thankfully. (the door should be shut in the first place for confidentiality... duh) He also assumes my financial status then chuckled shaking his head at me when I said I have the money for the surgery because he assumed I'm not capable of having such funds. (truly caught me off guard as to how someone could say that and them thinking it's okay, especially doubling down on it the moment after, left me speechless for a moment, till i responded with "Don't ever assume someone financials it's extremely rude"). He wasn't clear on the intake and was visibly distraught when I had more questions and concerns. As I was about to go under for the surgery he made a smart @$$ remark that I couldn't respond to about me having an iPhone and my music (?like good one boomer, i guess??). During intake, he stated "I'm only here for another year" I'm assuming retirement, so maybe he just doesn't care anymore... oh well. I don't write reviews ever but this guy deserves one. Be more respectful it's not that hard, or don't since you're leaving soon ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the choice is yours :) (update they forgot to put in my steroid prescription... for over a day, actually embarrassing on their part, imagine performing surgery and not giving the patient the necessary medication to recover)

I entered the office with my N94 mask on. After signing in, I was Led into a small room a few feet from the front entrance. After a review of my medical history, I was told to REMOVE my mask and follow the staff person to another area. I was surprised, and asked about the mask being removed 'Are you sure?' 'Yes' she replied . I figured it must be a very safe environment with strict controls. I removed my mask and followed her. As I exited the room , two of Dr. Reiner's front office staff were standing a few feet away. One had a mask under her chin that was covered her neck only. The other had a clear PPE shield that was lifted up. There was no mask covering her face. They were chatting. I momentarily froze. Then I walked away from them following the technician to the X-ray machine. After the X-ray I told the technician how upset I was about what had happened. She strongly apologized and said she would speak to the others about what had happened. 'It is their policy to always wear masks " she said. I spoke to the two unmasked persons as I was leaving about them not wearing masks. One of them had the nerve to ask me 'Was it me?' I should have told the Doctor...instead I decided to just get out of there quickly.

From start to finish the staff was thorough so we understood what to expect from billing to post op care. Dr Reiner was caring and professional providing us with confidence. The anxiety over wisdom tooth removal was minimized by his bedside manner. We had a great result for both of our kids! Highly recommend.

Both my sons had there wisdom teeth removed here and I am planning to have a couple wisdom teeth removed as well. Agree that Dr. Reiner and nursing staff are great. Also agree that the receptionist could improve in the area of customer service - also it is not appropriate to ask for Social Security numbers UNLESS on medicaid/medicare. They indicated that all offices ask for this - first time I was ever asked in Glastonbury by Dr or dentist in 20 plus years - she told me I was wrong but not to bother filling it in. They were very clear on their policies though so no issue there.

During my wisdom teeth surgery prep, my nurse was very rude and stuck her hand down my shirt to adhere surgery prep materials without warning. It is fair to need these materials, but I would like warning before someone reaches into my shirt with the office door wide open. Anyways, I woke up during the surgery and felt great pain, and when I tried to raise my hand to indicate this, my hand was pushed down multiple times and I kept feeling the pain through the surgery, to the extent that I remember thinking to myself, "Oh my god, this will never end." Afterwards, the techs removed the mask and noticed my tears (I had been crying from the pain) and made jokes about it. I then had a panic attack, and this, too, was made light of. Then I tried to communicate my experience to my dad in the recuperation room, but the nurses and doctor talked over me and said crying was normal (I mean, my mouth was full of gauze and my lips swollen because I had JUST HAD surgery, so I found it hard to argue my case). So then I just went home. tl;dr: a fully traumatic experience for the surgery with zero sympathy. You are exclusively a dollar sign to this company

I had a horrible experience getting my wisdom teeth removed in which the nurse was rude and I woke up in the middle of the surgery and felt pain. When I tried to indicate it to the doctors, it was dismissed and I continued feeling pain until the end of the surgery. All of it was made light of to my parents afterwards, and when I tried to communicate my experience I was talked over by the nurses and doctor, which was hard for me to argue against obviously because I was post surgery with a mouth full of gauze. tl;dr -- don't go here for surgery if you don't want to be treated like a dollar sign instead of a patient.

I got my wisdom teeth removed at this facility. It is very clear that the company is referred by many local dentists and thus, treats the patients like a product and not a person. The nurse staff I had was rude and clearly didn't care about the patient. I specifically remember she stuck her hand down my shirt without warning to adhere pulse detectors, which is totally understandable for a surgery, but I would like some warning before someone reaches down my shirt, especially when the door to the room is wide open. During the surgery, I woke up and began fully feeling pain. I tried to raise my hand SEVERAL times, as I had been told to do during the one cavity filling I've had by a different dentist (I had no prepping for what to do if I woke up during this surgery). Every time, my hand was pushed down and I kept enduring the pain of the surgery, and remember thinking to myself, "Oh my gosh, this will never end." When they took the instruments off my face after the surgery, they noticed my tears (I had started crying from the pain) and made jokes about it. Then I had a panic attack, and this too was made light of by the nurses. When I was brought to the recuperation room and tried to talk about my experience, I was talked over by the doctors and nurses to my parents (because obviously my mouth was full of gauze and I could not fully speak post-surgery). tl;dr -- The nurses and doctor here do not care about you. You can wake up during the surgery and feel pain, but that does not matter to them because you are a dollar sign.

I am very grateful to Dr. Reiner and staff. Everyone was efficient, professional, personable and provided excellent care before, during, and after my surgery. Highly recommend!

Rudest office staff I have ever encountered! They have policies in place that they do not mention until the time of the appointment. Additionally, the staff is less than understanding and could really benefit from a lesson in customer service! Any single parents out there beware this place is prejudice against single parents.
