Jeffrey Heftler's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Heftler is brilliant, exceptionally skilled, and has a bedside manner that is absolutely perfect. He is empathetic and responsive-I was in crazy pain when I first met him for an ultrasound injection. He knew I was nervous and knew just how to make me relax so that by the time the injection was over I felt it was, not just a good, but, a positive experience. During my follow-up appointment he did a thorough examination and assessment of my injured area, cheerfully answered all of my questions, suggested options to help me plan next steps, and talked about what he would pay close attention to going forward. Top Doc in every way!

It is my pleasure to write this review of Dr. Jeffrey Heftler who cared for me this winter when I suffered from a L-5 S-1 herniated disc. I was still recovering from recent rotator cuff surgery, but I have to say that the pain from the herniated disc was much more severe and often woke me up several times a night. Dr. Heftler first tried conservative measures such as oral steroids, muscle relaxants, as well as local trigger point injections, but we quickly progressed to an epidural steroid injection. This relieved 80% of my pain and allowed me to sleep at night. Through the toughest times Dr. Heftler always responded rapidly to my calls and I could easily get a quick follow up appointment. He treated me with compassion and provided detailed explanations of treatment plan options.and we decided what to do together. His down to earth demeanor and sense of humor reassured me and I left his office with an optimistic outlook. I only needed one of a potential three epidural injections and with stretching, self PT and most of all patience, I am now pain free. I waited to write this review until I could play 2 consecutive rounds of golf in Florida- 3 months after my initial MRI. Jeff is a great clinician and I highly recommend him as a physiatrist to anyone who wants to avoid back surgery after a significant herniated disc. Horrible. Rude, arrogant. I had seen Dr H. previously. This time He refused to help me as I stood in front of him in extreme pain because I was treated by a doctor in New York. He would not even examine me. “Go back and see the doctor in NY. I can’t help you.” He doesn’t deserve the star required.

Dr Heftler has been treating me for the past 6 years. I have many years of dealing with physicians due to my caring of sick family members as well as my own medical issues. Dr. Heftler, by far, is the most professional, knowledgeable, caring and personable physician I have come across in my life. I feel blessed to know he is always thinking of what’s best for me in the least painful way possible. His practice runs like a well oiled machine. I have never waited more than 15 minutes of my appt to see him. 5 stars in every way!

Dr. Heftler has an excellent bedside manner and takes his time with you. I was just in for an epidural injection for a bad herniation of my L5-S1 and he provided me with the time I needed, to be certain all of my questions were answered. On the day of the procedure, the Dr. was extremely pleasant and kept my mind calm with plenty of fun conversation. My fingers are crossed that I get some relief from the injection, but hands down he is highly recommended and I wont go anywhere else.

Dr Heftler is an extraordinary, caring, brilliant and kind gentleman and physician. His compassion and understanding is evident in his bedside manner and right on target diagnosis. A true gem of a doctor who went beyond the call of duty to help me through a very difficult and painful episode.
