List of Wajih Zaheer Md's Reviews
Great experience. The staff is efficient and friendly. The nurses are caring and knowledgeable, and Dr Zaheer explained everything well and discussed my meds, lab results, procedures and concerns. I would recommend this office to anyone.
i wouldn't send my pet frog to this person
he has No communication skills,doesn/t know who you are until he reads your chart, acts like you are imposing on his time, very insensitive
Dr. Zaheer is an outstanding oncologist. He has been treating me for almost 4 years. He is patient, understanding and always pleasant.
Doctor Zaheer is a wonderful caring doctor, As a patient of his, he takes very good care of me, especially when I really need him,
This doctor and staff does not call their patients back they do not follow up and they overbook his schedule sometimes making people wait two hours to be seen and will never apologize for making them wait
I have been going to Dr Zaheer since May 2007 for breast cancer. He is the NICEST Dr I ever had. He takes time to hear your questions and concerns and thinks about them before he answers. He told me we would be connected at the hip forever and now 9 years later and still in remission I look forward to my 6 month appointment s with him. Bless you Dr. Zaheerð
The office is overcrowded and the wait times are extremely long, with little consideration given for the state of the patient (especially those undergoing grueling chemotherapy regimens). The doctor is extremely knowledgeable but spends very little time with patients- is always rushed. Most communication is done through a PA, also extremely knowledgeable, but listening to the patient and addressing dangerous side effects where there is no easy answer is not a priority. Also, addressing end of life issues and palliative care is resisted at every turn, even when the patient is clearly dying and the battle should be over.
It was the worst experience I've ever had. Battling cancer is tough enough without adding the fact that your doctor doesn't know anything about you and makes you feel like just another number. He had no clue who I was and everytime I had a problem I never spoke with Dr. Zaheer it was always through the APRN Erin. She had me on medicine that he didn't even know about. It was awful. It took her 4 days to re-fill my prescription and it was because she didn't want to call the extension I gave her, she wanted a direct number, even though the pharmacy didn't have one. They were so rushed at the Old Saybrook location that I wasn't even given a room to speak to the doctor, he would just talk to me in the open while I was getting my port accessed. I heard him asking the nurses what was taking my medicine so long to finish and giving an attitude about it because on Wednesdays is their half day at that location. If I were to do it again I would have never switched and stayed up in New Haven and gone with a doctor that was personable, compassionate and had some bed side manner. When you're doctor comes in and doesn't even know what treatment you're on, doesn't make you feel like he cares.
Great personality. Explanation of diagnosis is complete and thorough.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
