Fantastic doc! Expertise and staff were stellar. I needed additional prep, which could have been an ordeal; but his recommendations were easy and effective, and they were able to see me later the same day. First time colonoscopy. Bedside manner of entire staff was exceptional.
Dr. Kwan is a very good doctor regardless of what people are saying about him. Here is why I like Dr. Kwan. I have a chronic disease which I have seen 4 different specialists for before Dr. Kwan. All of them refused to do a 6 months monitoring and were not willing to provide treatment while my disease was in the active stage. They all said it was not critical. I am not sure why they didn't want to prescribe the medication but one thing I know is the medication is way too expensive($1,200 for 30 tablets). It could be because they were afraid to fight with the insurance or something. Anyways, I did some research about the disease and have learned that my disease is one of the top 5 silent killers, meaning no symptoms shown until the advance stage, and none of the patients would survive at the advance stage. Since I have paid a lot for my insurance, I was able to visit any specialist I wish to without going through my primary care doctor. I then finally came across Dr. Jeffrey Kwan and his schedule was quite tight which I had to wait for three months for the initial visit. When visiting Dr. Kwan, my anxiety was completely changed. He encouraged me to go for treatment and he provided all the good reasons which should be a win-win for me at a young age. He didn't want the disease to slowly destroy me and no way to cure at the advance stage which would be too late for everything. I have done some research myself as well and found that my disease was too scary. I decided to go for the treatment. He prescribed a very good medication to treat the disease. He also gave me instruction how to avoid the co-pay for the prescribed med. He did screening every 6 months to monitor the disease which is double the duration of other Doctors' screening plan. My confidence increased and anxiety is gone after being treated by Dr. Kwan. I would recommend him if you have any liver disease. The waiting time is roughly about 0 to 10 mins which is very reasonable.
I had called in several weeks ago and talked to the receptionist about making an appointment for a screening colonoscopy. I was told I needed to see the doctor first but then the colonoscopy would be one the following week. I was called the day before and probably got called at least 8 times!!! They wanted to change my appointment-so agreed-and asked for the date of procedure-they now said did not know-lots of emergencies, etc....but show up anyway...so went-hit lots of traffic due to them re-scheduling me late in the day...asked to make sure of coverage-and also that wanted the procedure done before the first. The gal I was dealing with was less than honest-and could not verify my insurance and seemed to just want to get me in the door-and ignore my concerns. They then fold me would not happen since doctor was taking the holiday off!! Hello!!! That could have been told to me when I called in weeks ago-and I would have now had the procedure done-while I have time off!!!!I feel very sorry for this poor doctor-probably a great guy-but poor office help. They wasted my day and were less than honest with me. I'm going to find another doctor-who can keep their agreements.
Tummy trouble? It might be time to deal with the problems you are having. I made an appointment with Jeffrey Kwan. We discussed my symptoms and came up with a treatment plan. He was the most sensitive doctor with the best bedside manner ever. He is officially with San Jose Medical Group. I was extremely lucky to find this doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
