List of Joseph Wu Md's Reviews
I just saw Dr. Wu recently, and his first impression was impeccable, truly professional yet down-to-earth, and friendly. Before I could mention the issue I noticed a while ago, Dr. Wu pointed out the issue that two other doctors "assumed" was normal. I have never met a competent orthopedic surgeon until now. If you're looking for an orthopedic doctor, I recommend giving him a chance.
Dr. Wu- Tang is C5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I saw Dr. Wu about a knee injury and my experience with him was terrible. Not only did he fail to address my concerns, but there was no effort made to communicate with me.
My husband and I each saw Dr Wu on the same day for different ailments. I have two bad hips and my husband has a sizable medialmeniscus tear with a meniscal cyst. His advice for each of us was exactly the same. " While you're a candidate for surgery (insert name here) because you're only 50 and the joints wear out in 20-25 years I don't think we should perform surgery at this time." We were both stunned, thinking we're just supposed to live with horrible, debilitating pain until we are old enough?!? I've since seen another Dr who has made my hip replacement a priority as the joints are bone on bone. My husband saw another Dr and his knee replacement surgery will be scheduled when the COVID 19 crisis has subsided. His recommendation was outdated information and had we followed it we would have suffered needlessly until we reached some arbitrary age that Dr Wu felt we could be eligible. I've never felt so strongly about not recommending a physician.
My husband and I both saw him for different conditions. I have bad hips my husband has a medial meniscal tear and cyst. He tells us both the same thing, even though we're candidates for replacement surgery we're too young because the joints wear out in 20-25 years.... So we just live with debilitating pain until he feels we won't outlive the joints?!? Our GP heard this nonsense and strongly urged us to see another orthopedic surgeon. We did and will both be going in for surgery as soon as this COVID 19 crisis subsides. I've never been more compelled to warn the general public about a physician than I have him. His recommendations for treatment (do nothing) for both of us was either grossly misinformed or lazy or both.
ABSOLUTELY THE NICEST DOCTOR ON EARTH!! So Patient! So Thorough! So Smart!!! 10 thumbs up!!!!
ABSOLUTELY THE NICEST DOCTOR ON EARTH!! So Patient! So Thorough! So Smart!!! 10 thumbs up!!!!
Me and my husband decided to go to the yale walk in clinic on Devine street north haven on Friday am after having such horrible shoulder pain, upon arrival at the clinic everyone was so nice the nurse came in took X-rays and stated she was going to Call an ortho she told us to just wait and be patient, she came back and said that Dr Wu would see us right away. Upon arrival at his office we were treated very well and was taken to a room waited a few min and he came in to evaluate me, I was so relieved when he finally told me what I had and what I could possibly do for my symptoms. I highly recommend him to anyone what a great dr.
He and his office treated with respect and spent time to answer all my questions.
We seldom wait for an appointment and he is always amazingly prompt. His manner is casual and comfortable. He has treated both my wife and me, with excellent results and good follow through. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone needing orthopaedic surgery!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
