I was so lucky to find this doctor. He was the only one willing to operate on me. Now I am two months post op from back fusion and I have never felt as good as I do now. Thank god for him. I was in so much pain pre surgery and could barley walk 50 feet before being in debilitating pain. Yesterday I went on a 3 km walk! This doctor is a god sent!
I Give Dr Sachs and all the staff 5 stars. I am about 7 wks post op for back fusion surgery. From day 2 after surg I could tell I was better. My healing is going great. I was HORRIFIED to have surgery now so far it was the best thing I could do. I owe him and his team everything. I am getting my life back. My Father inlaw and an employee of my boyfriends also had back surgery's from Dr Sachs they as well had a great experience.
Sent my Mother home to become total disabled with a large brain tumor for 6 months and hospital losing her file..Another Doctor recently operated..but after so long she's physically and mentally disfunctional ..Dr. Sachs should loose his right to practice .He's a complete disgrace .I will never forgive Him for the pain he's caused my Mother .
Amazing Dr very knowledgeable kind and understanding.
He is a miracle worker! My husband could barely walk, limited Mobility, incontinent, extreme pain. Dr. Sachs performed a lamenectomy and from the moment he awoke from surgery he was pain free. Thank you Dr. Sachs! May you be truly blessed for giving us our life back. Thank you for all you do!!
I was very impressed that Dr. Sachs provided great care, advice and empathy to my wife condition. She is on the road to recovery and I hope to better life outcome with out pain.
Great surgery, clean incision. We're from out of town so he did some great negotiating to get us back in rehab at our local hospital.
After 10 years of no quality of life and 2 others surgeons turning me down Dr.Sachs is my hero after a 13 hour L1-S1 surgery I have a very active life and since 2015 no trips to the ER for pain control...this is a very dedicated neurosurgeon as far as i can see he is amazing and i will never be able to repay the new lease on life he has given me so tyvm for everything you did for me...great staff and knowledge and just overall 1 heck of a surgeon...
Saved me again in December 2017. Removed previous l4-5 fusion. Took notches out of l3 installed fusion from 3-5 and installed electrodes at l3 in case they would be needed. Can’t say enough about him and Lauren stead, extremely dedicated, compassionate, and takes time talking, answering questions. Very talented neurosurgeon.
My wish for anyone reading this is that you truly research and evaluate any potential neurosurgeon. Unfortunately, our present health care system and more specifically OGH make it next to impossible to get a fair second opinion. Based on experience and second hand information (said by a fellow OGH neurosurgeon), neurosurgeons by practice will redirect the patient to the initial caring neurosurgeon. In other words, even if the initial neurosurgeon is wrong in his assessment it will be very difficult to find a second neurosurgeon who is willing to dispute the previous assessment. (There are only approximately 120 neurosurgeons in Canada and most of them know each other to some degree or another). Dr. Sachs is good in many cases. However, if your situation is unique, complicated or rare he is likely NOT the best suited neurosurgeon for you. He is unfortunately extremely prideful, dare I not write arrogant, and will not humble himself and admit to his limitations. Instead, he will in all likelihood claim that your condition will not improve with any neurosurgical intervention. I have given up on getting help in Ontario. After many years of going in circles, I finally found a neurosurgeon outside the province who had the skills and the will to help me. Best of luck in securing the right kind of help for your particular needs.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
