My medically complex six year old was in the emergency room and had a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia. Per billing records, Dr. Moote was the radiologist who read her chest x-ray and ruled out pneumonia. My child continued getting sicker and sicker over the next 4 days, wheezing, coughing until vomiting, and 105 fever, her treatment team viewed the chest x-ray and determined that she DID have pneumonia. She was started on antibiotics and steroids immediately. If he had diagnosed the pneumonia when she had the chest x-ray, she would have started treatment immediately and not have continued getting sicker.
