The triage and PCAs working in the Emergency Department are so rough and rude to elderly patients. They're taking advantage of the fact that there's no visitors allowed, therefore no one to advocate for an elderly family member. This evening I watched them yank on a fragile elderly woman and practically toss her into a wheelchair. The scared and hurt look on her face broke my heart. The emergency staff come out screaming names and roughly handling people. It's actually really disturbing to witness.
Karin Evelyn Grann - Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner. In reference to my experience with Ms. Karin Evelyn Grann hospitalist "In a healthcare setting, patients expect to receive professional and ethical treatment from their healthcare providers. Unfortunately, this was not the case with my distressing experience with Karin E Grann. I had a medical condition that required ongoing treatment. Despite the doctor having access to the patient's medical history, it became evident that they had not taken the time to read it thoroughly. As a result, the doctor provided treatment that was unorganized and potentially harmful. What's worse, the doctor resorted to manipulative tactics and lies. I was left feeling unheard and unsupported, and it became clear that the doctor was more concerned with their own interests than those of their patient. In response to this treatment, the I had to advocate for my rights and seek additional support from patient advocacy and the medical director. The doctor, refusing to take responsibility for their actions, failed to contact their superiors and instead fled, hoping that the I would either self-discharge or walk out. This experience highlights the importance of patients being empowered to advocate for themselves in the face of unprofessional and unethical treatment. It also underscores the need for healthcare providers to prioritize their patients' well-being and to act with integrity and professionalism at all times. Patients deserve to receive the highest quality care possible, and anything less is simply unacceptable. Windham Hospital and Hartford Hospital should be concerned with Karin E Grann's professional ability and authority as a medical provider. "
The Step-down Unit in the Bliss Building on the 11th floor is NOT well coordinated. There are times when staffers come to my mom's room to complete the same procedure that was completed minutes prior i.e. draw blood 5 minutes apart... and that is very scary to say the least. My mother was admitted over the weekend with a stroke. My mother has 7 adult children who are from MA, CT, NY & NJ. Before we all arrived at the hospital we asked for and received permission from the PA to alternate visiting my mom's room in groups of 2 which is understandable (especially in this Covid era). Tonight, one of the machines in my mom's room was beeping. My mom used the red button to contact the nurses station to inform of the beeping machine. 3 minutes later the machine is STILL beeping, so I step out of my mom's room and head towards the nurses station where they are all in a huddle making rude comments about my family...gossiping like school girls at recess. When they noticed me approaching the nurses station they abruptly stopped talking, but it was too late- I heard all of their unprofessional disgusting comments. To say that I was furious would've been an understatement... all THIS was happening as my mother's machine continued beeping. I gave them a piece of my mind, they called security to escort me from the unit but I was already leaving. As a HR Manager currently working in Healthcare, I was beyond disgusted with their professionalism or lack there of!!!
My father was transferred here after being at 2 other hospitals in CT. I am closer to Yale so I don't use Hartford Hospital. I will say every single staff member I spoke to were all amazing. Dr.Collins did a procedure in interventional radiology and he was the most compassionate person I have ever met. He examined everything to me in detail and he truly cares about his patients and family. He was in the ICU on Bliss 11 for a few days and every nurse that cared for him was amazing and extremely caring. One day was really rough and I left crying. An employee getting off the elevator patted my back and told me she was sorry. I wish I knew who she was because I would hug her. Most people ignore you but you can tell the staff cares, they have a passion for helping people. It is a big area there are medical buildings, the main hospital, and the children's hospital but you can park in the main garage to get to any building. I have the hospital, doctors, PA'S, RN's and everyone else for saving his life.
Tratan pésimo los pacientes.
My mom was brought here by ambulance because she was dizzy and throwing up and couldn't get off the floor. She was left in the hallway on a gurney for hours with no food, no water, no medication, and barely any attention at all. Finally she was moved to a room in the ER on the same gurney. We saw the doctor for literally 2 minutes 3 times and we were at the hospital from 7:30am until 11pm. I completely understand it's a busy hospital and they have to prioritize but it's basically torture to leave a senior citizen in an uncomfortable gurney literally all day and all night. Hire another doctor! Hire more nurses! There's no excuse for this treatment. I've been to many hospitals unfortunately and I've never experienced anything like this. Total chaos. Don't go to the ER at Hartford hospital if you can avoid it. You will be neglected.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses, aides, cleaning professionals and administration in Conklin. My Dad’s care wasn’t perfection at every moment, but it was human. He was given dignity in his final weeks and our family was given patience and grace throughout.
Long wait(6+), you can't have a +1 in the waiting room, very strict and insensitive staff. They love to run up insurance...I don't recommend but what are other options, maybe the town next door
Time that I came was 12pm in the morning. I know you the wait when you come to the hospital. So it's now 6pm & I'm still in the triage. I was told that I couldn't get any pain meds for my pain & nothing for me having a difficult time breathing. The young ma (medical assistant) that we assign to me was ok from the start. But once I pressed the call button after being isolated in a room her manners where so nasty. I didn't get her name yet but the fact that this girl gave no care that I was in pain. She was just so nasty to me.let me not forget when she came in the room she just dropped the bed without giving me a heads up. I thinks she did this because I told her that it hurts really bad when I move . Harford Hospital I'm addressing you that your employees need to be addressed about how I was treated.
This hospital emt & ER staff got me set to a room within 20 min The nurses were so polite friendly and outgoing I recommend this hospital to anyone. Fast efficient

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
