I had been to 2 other surgeons to explore hip replacement. One doctor’s manner was a little abrupt. One did not do the anterior approach and I thought I wanted that. When I met a woman who had surgery performed by Dr. Keggi she practically begged me to see him. I got to see him promptly and told him I wanted to proceed. When I called to schedule surgery there was a cancellation a week out and I jumped at it. Everyone was fantastic. Dr. Keggi spends lots of time with you including the morning of the surgery. The surgical center in Hartford is an amazing place. Everything excellent. I arrived 7:30am and I easily walked out with a walker at 3:30. Enjoyed dinner at home and using a cane I climbed the stairs to my bedroom. Friends brought the walker up the stairs for me. I only used the walker a few days. One piece of advice. Don’t wait. The stronger you are, the more fit, the quicker and easier your recovery.

Dr Keggi has done both of my knees and one hip over the years, at St Frances and Midstate. All have gone remarkably well. I have recommended him to a number of friends and family and all have had outstanding results.

I had my surgery on September 21, 2022. Surgery went great and was walking the neighborhood that first weekend with little on no pain. Dr. Keggi and his team at St. Francis were excellent! They were very caring and concerned about everything throughout the complete process. I couldn't have felt more relaxed. Dr. Keggi is one of the most calming people I've met and will answer any question until you're completely satisfied. My biggest mistake was not doing it earlier.

Omg I love love love Dr keggi, recently had a hip replacement done on May 22, 2023 took I heard only an hr and 6 minutes!!! This man is a genius, I'm still numb , but walking and feel so much better than I did.

Dr. John Keggi is amazing, helped me when no other Dr. would and I was in a great deal of pain. His staff is awesome. Had total hip replacement on June 6, 2022 very happy. Unfortunately I have other health issues but the hip is fine.

An incredibly dedicated and skillful orthopaedic expert! Dr. Keggi performed my hip replacement and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results! He cares about his patients and was very thorough in explaining the procedure to me. Any questions I had were answered and I left his office feeling 100% confident that I was in good hands. He came highly recommended to me by someone else I knew whom he performed hip replacement surgery on. So now I am highly recommending Dr. Keggi and his entire staff! You'll be glad that you did.

Before the hip surgery I was pained to walk/limp a 1/4 mile. Dr. Keggi's care (Birmingham hip resurfacing) was transformative, allowing me to return to all activities such as running and hiking that has included some challenging mountain climbs. I feel decades younger and am pain free. Aftercare in the subsequent five years has been fabulous. Dr. Keggi effectively diagnosed a hip problem that was nerve related (and nothing to do with my hip implant which continues to function perfectly). Even before Covid changed options for care delivery, Dr. Keggi and his team accommodated virtual visits (saving me a drive of 450 miles round trip), where other providers, who I considered, were rigidly expecting in-office visits. Original 2018 review: Recently had Birmingham hip resurfacing done by Dr. John Keggi at St Francis Hospital. Dr. Keggi, his office staff and all the staff, from Admission through discharge were, without exception, outstanding. In particular, they were organized, professional, polite, precise and clearly explained all the steps in the process.

I recently had hip revision surgery with Dr. Keggi on March 20. It was a very positive experience with Dr. Keggi and his very proficient staff. I had been plagued with a number of hip dislocations since my original hip surgery in 2013. When I first consulted with Dr. Keggi, he took the time to explain to me what the possible issue was with the placement of the pelvic insert and the repair that had to been done. I elected to proceed with the surgery and his staff (Kate Daley especially) guided me as to what I had to do to prepare for the surgery. I worked with his staff and the hospital staff at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden CT. The hospital staff were wonderful to work with. On the Sunday night before the surgery, Dr. Keggi called me to make sure that I was all set to go. The surgical procedure went smoothly. Dr. Keggi was very communicative with both myself and my wife afterwards. The after care that I received at Midstate Medical Center was very good. As of today, two days after surgery, I have really no pain and little discomfort. I really cannot say enough positive comments about Dr. Keggi. He really made a difference with me and addressing my condition. I recommend his services and those at Midstate Medical Center very highly.

Dr Keggi is absolutely the best doctor I’ve ever had the privilege of seeing. He and his staff are professional, kind and caring. doctor Keggi takes anll the time you need to answer questions and makes you feel comfortable as he explains your procedure in detail. He even has a masseuse visit to relax you just prior to surgery!! When Dr Keggi came to my room to see me after surgery in the hospital the first thing he did was bring my fruit plate within my reach, a thoughtful and totally automatic gesture. I was so impressed by his thoughtfulness. I am 9 months post surgery and able to do everything with minimal pain. St Francis’ staff is top notch and made sure my night there was comfortable. Dr Keggi employs the best staff to work beside him. I highly recommend Dr Keggi for joint replacement.

Dr Keggi really listens and has a great deal of empathy and compassion. He doesn’t rush his patients and is not arrogant.
