Alfred K. Hicks's Online Review Report Card

I have been a patient of Dr. Hicks for almost a year now. He has always been thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable, honest, and listens to my concerns and addresses my problems. He always takes the time to explain all my options and lets me voice my opinion in regards to my goals and make my own decisions regarding my treatment plan. Dr. Hicks performed 2 major surgeries in order to complete my total lumbar fusion. It has been a long recovery process, however I'm doing so o much better, as I no longer have pain i my lower back or running down my leg. I'm so happy I decided to have the surgery, as it has enabled me to get back to my normal life and routine and also return to work. Dr. Hicks is a wonderful doctor and surgeon.

I am very pleased with the care I have received from Dr.Hicks. In my opinion, it couldn't have been any better. He is very personable and he makes you feel at ease with his knowledge and bedside manner!

Went back to this Dr. for second ime paid for by "workers comp" insurance, he lied to my face telling me he agreed with my Dr. (My doctor thinks I need surgery for back pain and neck pain) then I find out he writes a report 2 weeks later saying that I'm fine I'm maximum recovery even though I'm in constant pain in my neck and my back... HICK'S IS A FRAUD, DONT BE FOOLED BY HIM, HE'S ALL ABOUT THE DOLLAR, AN INSURANCE PAYOFFS!!! I was very much satisfied today july 22 2021 with procedure by Dr Hicks he explained things as he was doing it thank you Dr Hicks

Dr. Hicks returned my life back to almost pre-accident quality. Due to pain I’m sure at times I was a bear to deal with but all the staff remained professional and understanding of my pain. He is very knowledgeable and was very diligent before recommending surgery. I would highly recommend Orthopedic Partners. Thank you!!!!

I had surgery in April 2020 for a herniated disc.

Wow as I’m reading all the reviews I’m stunned! We have had nothing but success with Dr. Hicks. He was prepared with our appointments, answered all our questions, preformed back surgery on my husband after exhausting all options. The surgery was a huge success and my guy is walking without pain for the first time in years. Hands down 100% wonderful!

Dr, Hicks is, without a doubt, the most thoughtless, unprepared and rude dr. I have ever seen. During the current Covid crisis, despite all the security procedures in place for patients, he wears the bottom of his mask untied. When I asked him to tie it -I’m immunocompromised and can’t take chances - he complained about having to wear it all day and then, after fumbling theatrically, tied it loosely. But even worse is that he never reviews your chart before coming in, so the few minutes he spends with you are spent with him trying to figure out who you are and why you are there. If you dare ask him questions about your prognosis or possible treatments, he is vague if not unresponsive. I have a wonderful hip dr in the same practice and have since switched my spine care to a wonderful doctor at Yale. No one deserves the shoddy treatment this man offers. Oh, and despite running an hour and a half late for his last appointment, he neither acknowledged the lateness or apologized.

Waste of money and time. Just wants to run costly tests without helping the issue.
