Very knowledgeable and patient..great doctor
I have had chronic kidney stones over the past few years. I first met Dr. Myer after ending up in the hospital from an infection caused by a stone. Dr. Myer and his staff were professional, knowledgeable and compassionate in helping me get back to my normal self. Dr. Myer went out of his way to work on what was causing my kidney stones. I now see Dr. Myer every six months and each time he is a pleasure to talk with and it is clear that his concern for my health is genuine. Shawn F.
Excellent! Dr. Myer has been treating my elderly mom for a year now. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable in his field, he is kind and patient.
There are not enough words to describe the gratitude I have for Dr. Myer and his staff. I initially met Dr. Myer when I landed in the emergency room extremely sick and in significant pain. It turned out I had a large kidney stone that had created an infection. I cant really describe the misery I was feeling. Dr. Myer's professionalism, knowledge and compassion guided me through ordeal and had me on my feet again in no time. I would highly recommend Dr. Myer.
I am very happy with Dr. Myer. He’s very knowledgeable and accessible.
Dr. Myer would absolutely be the Urological expert I would immediately recommend to all family and friends. I came to Dr. Myer during a time when I was facing a life changing and life threatening scenario. His professionalism, compassion and in-depth explanations of what I was going through and could expect was tremendously helpful and appreciated. Because of the confidence he instilled in me that upon executing his game plan the end result would be absolute best case scenario from a health perspective I was happy and confident to put myself in his very capable hands to proceed. The process was to remove one of my kidneys due to a large cancerous tumor in it. The surgery was done approximately a week or so later, went perfectly. I was totally comfortable and confident going in. Afterwards I've felt better and stronger every day. After the full recovery time of six weeks, I've never felt better. I owe this all to Dr. Myers' expertise and skills. I can't thank him enough !
Dr. Meyer is one of the best.
Although Dr. Meyer presents as a nice man w/a pleasant demeanor, I didn't get any impression that he really cared much about my conditions, or his professional oath or obligations After keeping me waiting for about 45 minutes (30 min's in waiting room; 15 min's in exam room), he strode in, reached out to shake hands & welcomed me to his practice (I've been his patient for over 5 years & have been there several times). Although this didn't make me feel very confident, I gave him a quick pass because it had been awhile since I'd seen him. Next, he performed a perfunctory exam lasting about 10 minutes. He didn't address several of the concerns that I'd circled on his 5-page intake-sheet & when I asked him questions directly his answers were brief. There was no probing or further discussion to give me any sense of his curiosity, concern or any interest on his part. When he wrote me a referral for a test to be done in a hospital setting, I asked him if it should wait until after the current CoronaVirus pandemic had run its course & he practically laughed at me, indicating in a cavalier manner that I should just go ahead & do it without concern since there weren't any cases in CT (I had to inform him that 2 CT cases had already been reported the other day & he had no reply; just stood there dumbfounded. He didn't even know about this & he's a medical Dr!. In fact, later that day, not only were more cases reported, bringing the total to 4 in CT, but Gov Lamont also declared a state of medical emergency in CT). Wouldn't you prefer your doctor to be more informed about this? Besides the doctor's failings, I also had a dismal experience in his waiting room, w/a receptionist named "Nicole," who sat behind her closed glass window, laughing & horsing-around w/co-workers; yet she became unfriendly & rude as soon as she opened the glass to speak to patients. She barely made eye-contact, frowned at patients, barked out orders to patients without even addressing them by name, which incidentally caused confusion (example: after processing an elderly male patient, she shoved her hand out the window saying, "Here's your card." When the man reached to take it, she said, "No, not you!!" & simply waited until I noticed that she was referring to me, without ever even calling out my name. When I mentioned very nicely to her that it was a little confusing to know who she was calling, when she didn't say our names, she just frowned & didn't answer me.). No smiling from her (only when interacting w/co-workers). Dealing w/this receptionist was like being verbally "frisked" & dismissed. The whole experience was very unpleasant & even demeaning at times. This is what we're given for "healthcare" today, folks! I'm planning to look elsewhere & hope I can find something much better than this.
I was a patient of Doctor Edward G. Myer. I left his office in tears. I went there because I was having a problem with my Bladder. He started doing an Ultrasound. While in the middle of it. He said, I see by your Chart that your a Smoker. Then while I was looking at the Ultrasound Screen. He said that I have Bladder Cancer. I started crying. I was in Shock. Then he said. Well, what did you expect? That's what you get from Smoking. I questioned him on his findings of Cancer. He said that he saw it in my Bladder. After another question. He started yelling at me. I was not only in shock but very very confused. I don't know how to this day I drove home. When I finally got an appointment with another Urologist. Months later. It turned out that I didn't have Cancer at all. Or anything that even resembled Cancer. But I didn't find this out until months later. From a new Urologist. But it reeked havoc with my emotions. I now have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I still have terrible nightmares. But I'm in Therapy for it. I pray that this never ever happens to anyone that you love. Take heed from someone who has been through a Life Altering Journey. Because of Doctor Edward Myer.
IF you are a virgin (due to moral/religious reasons - not for lack of trying) or ONLY in a 100% monogamous LTR and/or like a very intense, uncomfortable doctor who will literally "scold" you for admitting you have multiple sex partners and sometimes don't use condoms (yes, that's how the world "should" be) & you "should abstain from sex the rest of your life as you are being morally irresponsible and will likely contract and spread STD's" Dr. Edward G. Myer is the doctor for you! Otherwise; NOT!

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
