List of Lawrence Berson's Reviews
Dr Lawrence Berson is an excellent surgeon. He took care of me for 3 1/2 years. He dedicated to his patients, took good care of me with follow up appointments, Xray, exc. To help me deal with my nerve damage that I had many years from a surgery that went wrong long ago when I was younger. He corrected it for me, and I feel less pain and no pain at all from my nerve damage. He is highly recommended to my friends and family. He is excellent listener and compassionate for his patients like he was to me. He explains to me of my situation and what is expected after surgery and checked on me for several of years until I became nerve pain free and helped filled out all my paperwork from work too so I can get FMLA on time. I highly recommend Dr Berson to anyone that has nerve or ankle or foot problems. He is he best and he helped me more than other surgeons did in prior past. Highly recommend his office at Middletown, CT Ortho Clinic too. I am very grateful for this doctor/surgeon Dr Berson.
Great surgeon and wonderful team! Thankful for all of them.
Excellent surgeon. Highly recommend. Caring and explain details of procedure and great office staff.
Don’t let this Dr touch you or operate on you. He’s a horrible surgeon I had a 3 rd surgery done by him and he didn’t know what surgery he did on me and didn’t even know my name he also called me a baby. Went to another surgeon who found out that I had a malunion and nonunion in the same fracture and I had nerve entrapment and I had to have my ankle ligament and tendons reconstructed after he said I was fine. I would give him 0 stars if I could seems to only care about money for the practice doesn’t care about his patients. His bed side manner is horrible. He shouldn’t be a dr.
Dr. Benson was helpful to treat my ankle injury. Easy access to the clinic and the staff made me feel welcomed with all of the COVID stuff going on.
I am still in a wheelchair after 7 months and 2 surgeries by Berson!. I went to him for surgery to implant hardware for a severe ankle/femur break. I ended up with hardware that somehow got staph it inside of me!!!. I had a wound open up down to my bone!!!!. It took months of IV antibiotics and going in and out of the hospital to close my wound!!!. The scars I have look like a severe BURN victim!!!. My foot hurts just about all the time!!!. Severely at times.... and I still can not walk normally yet!!!. Doctor Berson has not supported me nor seemed to really care about my pain and damage!!!. DO NOT LET HIM OPERATE ON YOU!!!.
Profound indifference to surgical complications after ankle fusion. Over-Rx'ed major opiolds instead of checking the incision. PA applied unwrapped, dirty gauze under a cast so tight soft tissue was damaged. Failed to diagnose infection for weeks. Threatened to drop me if I retained infectious disease specialist who disagreed with him. Failed to respond to written request for family meeting recommended by hospital president. Now face possible foot amputation if infection returns.
Surgery on shattered ankle. When the cast was taken off I noted it looked infected. Doctor poo-pooed it! It WAS infected.
Had foot surgery February 2016 to fix a torn tendon. They cut my heal clean through and moved it to apparently give me an arch.I never recovered from the surgery and now walk with a limp and no feeling in that foot.the only feeling I do have is in the same tendon that hurt to begin with only now it's in another place.Beware, real bad experience and no help.Probably gonna lose my business.Dont let them cut your heal. They say they are breaking bones but what they mean is cut bones.
I would never recommend Dr. Berson. He did a surgery to my large toe and my second toe. He was suppose to make it so that I could bend my large toe without pain, it is no longer able to bend, and I am in a great deal of pain. My second toe was moved over, it did not heal properly because of the way he pinned it, and it's up off the ground, it's not even touching the ground now. I have really bad arthritis and i am much worse off.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
