This was a terrible experience in every way. Not only a collosal waste of time but also embarrassing. My hand was injured months ago and has been dysfunctional ever since; swelling and pain occur doing even simple tasks. I waited a month to see a "specialist" and was told by Dr.Swigart there was no discernable problem. She refused to even reccomend a physical therapist. I feel bad that my insurance company was billed for this visit.

Took less than 5 minutes to physically speak to me and review my issues. Very cold. Very uncaring. Said she could do nothing about my pain and that I had to live with it. When asked if this was considered chronic she responded with “I don’t believe in labels.” Has 0 people skills. Do not waste your money here and find and different doctor instead.

Dr Swigart did my carpal tunnel surgery today. Best bed side manner, explains everything so you understand what is happening. I highly recommend her and her staff. All staff from office to OR were wonderful.

This Dr agreed to do my wrist ganglion cyst more than a month in advance. 1 week prior to the surgery date someone from her office called to say they have to reschedule. When asked, the only reason was that she didn’t feel comfortable. I not satisfied and requested she call me, she never did. 30 mins later the same woman from the office called to say the Dr said she’d go ahead with the surgery. 1 day before the surgery, someone called and left a message saying Dr had to cancel and reschedule AGAIN... that was it for me. The morning I was supposed to report in for surgery I received a call from the surgery center asking if I’m on my way. So yeah, this person was in for a surprise of what came out of my mouth. This Dr is unprofessional or didn’t know what the heck she was doing.

On my internists recommendation I had several visits over several years- and each visit was excellent. I recommend her to everyone I know who has had hand issues.

She was thorough and professional and explained everything regarding my fractured wrist and the surgery I would need clearly. She might not be a warm fuzzy hand holder, but then neither am I. I had a very short wait each time I went in. All the staff was very kind.

Waited months for an appointment ~ Swigart spent about 10 minutes reviewing my problem and sent me off to a physical therapist. Not even a goodbye. She has turned into a cold, uncompassionate person. She previously preformed surgery on my right hand ~ which makes matters worse, as I thought I was considered a "patient". The pain in the other hand was a nonissue for her. She chose the best excuse out of her box of excuses as to why there was pain. I will finish the allowed PT sessions and move on to someone else who might give a damn. I have Bilateral Dupytren's Contracture which is a progressive condition. She is not worth my time.

Awesome doctor! She is very personable and kind. Dr Swigart takes time to listen and answer your questions unlike so many other Yale doctor's who rush the visit. Dr Swigart truly cares about her patients. Thank you Dr Swigart !
