List of Courtney Elizabeth Gibson Md's Reviews
I had a bad experience with Dr. Gibson and would caution anyone with an indeterminate thyroid nodule from going to her. My nodule was called a follicular neoplasm and it was deemed indeterminate if it was cancer or not. I went to Dr. Gibson for guidance as to whether I should get surgery to remove it. I also asked many times if there was any other tests than would provide more information as to whether the nodule was cancerous or not. Each time I asked, she said “No, there are no other tests” and wanted me to schedule surgery soon. I decided to get another opinion and glad I did. I found out that there is a molecular test one can take that will give them an excellent more precise indication if there is cancer present in the nodule. I took the test and it was determined there was less than a 3% chance of cancer and was told to monitor it with yearly ultrasounds. If I had listened to Dr. Gibson, I would have had an unnecessary surgery on a benign nodule. Please do yourself a favor and find a more qualified doctor and ask for a molecular test if your thyroid nodule is indeterminate.

Dr Gibson is an awesome, knowledgeable, and compassionate dr. I consider myself lucky to have an awesome dr preforming surgery on me! The entire staff was extremely professional and knowledgeable of my care! They got the job done! Dr. Gibson is a will vessel for the lord, saving peoples life everyday! With much gratitude and thanks! God bless!
I was referred to Dr. Gibson for thyroid and parathyroid surgery. At the pre-op appointment, Dr. Gibson thoroughly explained the surgery, expected outcomes and possible complications. She was kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. She did not rush during the appointment and answered all my questions. The surgery has been a success. The suture line is in a crease of my neck and not visible. In addition, her office staff including the receptionists and nurses are also respectful, kind and caring. Thank you, Dr. Gibson
when I first met Dr. Gibson it was for a consult for a total thyroidectomy she was very professional and explained my every question and after the surgery I experienced exactly how she explained it she showed great care and concern regarding me trying to return to work too soon and resume heavy lifting I was very satisfied with the surgery and care I received from her and her staff.
Dr. Gibson and her team were exceptional. Dr. Gibson's pre-surgery consult was reassuring and comprehensive. She and her surgical team performed my routine procedure with extreme care and sensitivity. I left the hospital within 24 hours and was back to work within 3 days. How lucky we are to have surgeons like Dr. Gibson.
On 11/262019, I had parathyroid surgery at YNHH, in order to resolve Hyperparathyroidism. This surgery was performed by Dr. Courtney Gibson. I was previously told that the length of the surgery would be dictated by the amount of tissue/glands that would have to be removed. As it happened, all four glands were involved, and the three worst were removed, thus the surgery took longer than originally anticipated. Throughout the surgery, my son was made aware of my condition and how I was doing. Dr. Gibson spoke to him immediately following the surgery. She briefed him on what the procedure had entailed, reassuring him that the procedure had gone well, and that I would be fine. I spent one night in the hospital and was discharged to home the next morning. Prior to surgery I had met Dr. Gibson only once, as she had taken the place of the original Surgeon I had seen for the Hyperparathroidism. Several minutes into the visit, I felt very comfortable with her, and her explanation of what needed to be done. She explained the procedure very clearly, from the small size of the incision and how the procedure could take longer than usual depending on how much tissue was diseased; to the need for her to send blood to the lab during the procedure in order to be sure that the Parathyroid was functioning properly before she closed the incision. She gave me ample time to ask questions, and answered them in such a clear and concise way, I couldn't help but understand what she was telling me. I left her office, looking forward to the surgery and feeling extremely confident in her abilities.
Dr. Gibson, was very personable & knowledgeable in her field, very good at Endocrine Surgery for Thyroidectomy, Parathyroidectomy, and Adrenal's surgeries.
Title: “Best Optimum Surgical Procedure” The non-cancerous tumor behind my breastbone was removed through an incision from the Left side of my neck. Knowing that I did not have my internal organs and its functioning exposed to external air was miraculous to say the least; knowing that Dr. Courtney’s removal of the Left lobe of my thyroid (which had a non-cancerous mass) in 2018, utilizing the same surgical site on May 30th 2019 demonstrated her Gifts are extensive. Her compassion, insight, beauty, humility was and remains Stellar. What an honor to be her patient. I also want to thank her entire Team as well. Respectfully submitted, Donna Hunter

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
