Lee Eric Rubin Md's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Rubin is a rock star of surgeons. He is smart, caring, attentive, thorough, cutting edge, talented, a mentor, someone who cares about the process and patients' experience... shall I go on? Don't miss the opportunity to have him care for you. He replaced my hip (anteriorly) with absolutely no complications, and I will certainly see him again when I need the other one done. He runs his department with full involvement, in a positive, patient-focused way. His team is like family, and they are all responsive and concerned for patient safety and comfort. He is an innovator in surgery, and has created a system/technique giving better visibility during surgery (critical for this type of surgery!) which he teaches others.

Dr. Rubin changed gave me life back. He supported me through other complicated health conditions until I was suitable for hip replacement (anterior approach.) Every single moment that I was with him or his team, I felt safe, important, respected, heard, and part of the team making decisions. He is personable, approachable, and FULL of knowledge. He is thorough and trains all of his office and team to be well-informed and patient-responsive. Post-op communications were easy and I had no complications from the surgery, which is something quite impressive given my conditions. He has developed techniques for hip surgery that make the surgery easier to recover from, and he has worked with the medical device companies to help other doctors do the same. He truly cares and has a passion for his trade. And he absolutely is an incredible teacher of those he mentors. I was so lucky to have his care, and will again in time.

Dr. Rubin replaced both of my knees 3 months apart. They had gone 5 years longer than I had been advised to fix them by doctors. They had severe damage and were also severely bowed. Dr. Rubin was confident in fixing everything and eased a lot of my presurgical fears. He came through with flying colors. I think he is a magician. My legs are now straight and perfect. Other than the first day or two there was very little pain. I feel very lucky and I am very grateful to have had such an amazing surgeon!!

I had both knees replaced, 3 months apart. I had waited about 5 years longer than I was told by other doctors to have them done. The damage in my knees was severe and the only reason I could stand or walk at all was my high tolerance to pain. Both knees were also severely bowed. Dr. Rubin is nothing short of a magician. My legs are completely straight and other than the first day or two the pain was minimal. He was very confident from the get go and eased a lot of my fears before the surgery. He went far above and beyond any expectations I had for my knees. He also has a great staff behind him that was extremely helpful and always available. He is a life changer!!

I researched and found Dr. Rubin for his expertise in the anterior approach to hip replacement surgery. From the very 1st office appointment, I knew Dr. Rubin was the surgeon, he was confident and understanding of all my concerns and fears while taking his time to explain in detail. His RN staff was simply amazing! They were constantly in touch, guiding me through the preop and prepping me for what to expect post surgery. To this day they even reach out to see how I am (who does that). My hip replacement was performed at the Yale McGivney Advanced Surgery Center, this was my first time there and it shocked me on just how friendly and professional all the staff were to me and my wife. The postoperative pain was nothing compared to the arthritis pain I had been living with. I cannot be more happy with this new hip, No pain with standing, so much more range of motion, the ability to do long hikes, walk a golf coarse. I truly feel young again. On March 28, 2022, I had a total left hip replacement by Dr. Lee Rubin. I cannot find the words to express how grateful I am for Dr. Rubin. Two weeks to the day, I was back at work, with no walker and no cane. All of the pain that I had leading up to the hip replacement was gone. In addition, Dr. Rubin explained everything in great detail and you can tell that he is a perfectionist. Again, I can't thank Dr. Rubin enough and recommend him 1,000%.

My experience with Dr. Rubin was absolutely the best! I wish I hadn't waited so long to have the procedure. I couldn't walk without a cane beforehand. I was walking without a limp or cane within 3 weeks. The entire staff was professional, polite, and caring for every visit. Thank you to Dr. Rubin and every single person who had a hand in seeing me through this major surgery.

Arrived early, had films done, then waited in a run down exam room but MD never came in..waited 45 minutes and left. The assistant that did the screening questions was clueless and really had no business working in an ortho office-I informed her I had Heterotopic ossification as well as diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis and she had no idea what I was talking about and didn’t bother to write it in her notes..the PT scheduling staff could not have been less helpful. A complete waste of time, I’ll return to Hartford Hospital and Orthopedic Associates of Hartford for quality care and service..

D. Rubin did a knee replacement. He was very professional up to the day of surgery. He wasn't a fan of pain meds, even before or after surgery. After the operation, I never heard from him again. My pain was severe. My daughter called my Primary and within an hour, I had what I needed for pain meds. It took me 4 months to recover and I had to use a walker. Another surgeon replaced my other knee. Wonderful experience! Walked 220 steps the day after surgery. Walking without a cane within a month. Driving, too.

Dr. Lee Rubin performed a left hip arthroplasty on me on 10/20/21, at the Yale McGivney Orthopaedic Center, a state-of-the-art medical center. The pre-surgical care by Dr. Rubin and his staff was exceptional. They made sure all appointments, information and pre-op requirements were met and quickly addressed all questions and concerns I had. I was brought through the day of surgery with explanations of each procedure, lessening my level of anxiety. Patient care was exceptional and comforting through entire experience. I returned home just hours after surgery with immediate relief from hip pain. The recovery was short, painless and successful, an obvious testament to Dr . Rubin's skill and experience. Thank you to Dr. Rubin and the entire Yale staff for restoring my quality of life!
