List of Turnbridge's Reviews
Turnbridge saved our family! Our son is 17yrs old and stayed at the adolescent residential house in Woodbury, CT. It was the best decision we ever made. The staff is top-notch. From admissions to the clinical staff to the nursing staff. I cannot say enough good things. We were in constant communication with Turnbridge-we never felt out of the loop. We talked to our son every night. We had weekly visitation (over Zoom) and weekly family therapy (over Zoom). We also had weekly check-ins with the provider regarding medications. Every-thing was run by us-nothing was changed/added/removed without checking with us first. In the time our son spent at Turnbridge, we learned so much about him, about our family dynamic, and about how to better support him. For any reservations we had before his stay, they were canceled out by the care, attention, professionalism, and the non-judgmental approach of the community at Turnbridge. The Parent Support group was absolutely essential to the process and I'm forever grateful for it. When our son is discharged, the support continues! As alumni, you can continue to attend the Parent Support group meetings. It's warm and inviting and open to all who have been associated with Turnbridge. I have been so impressed from the start. Thank you Matt, Allie, Sam, Sheri, Jacqueline, Lauren and all the other staff who took care of us. We will be forever grateful.
Unfortunately my experience has not been as positive as others. My family member has been there two months and we, the extended family, are treated like we don't matter. Repeated calls go unanswered, requests for visits go ignored. Unless you are the one writing the check they don't care about you. Is this not a systemic family disease that impacts the family? They don't seem to care. I have called the head of residence, the head of operations and no one has bothered to answer our calls. That is just from the family perspective. Our family member has a case manager who repeatedly cancels their meetings, does not follow through on things she said she would do and she doesn't even have a Master's degree. She is a student. Is this the best that money can buy you? I think not. Send your children to a place that doesn't put profit ahead of the patient's healing and mental health.
The Turnbridge adolescent program is absolutely incredible. The staff at the Woodbury location helped my son smile again. Every staff member treated my child (and our whole family) with dignity & respect. I am incredibly grateful we found this program. My only complaint is that there aren't a lot of activities for the kids on the weekends. It would be nice for them to have some fun during the down time.
Our family's experience with Turnbridge was amazingly positive. Anyone in this situation knows the level of stress and doubt that can impede the decision to pursue this level of treatment and the faith required to keep with it. The staff at Turnbridge were gentle and clear with us as we worked through the steps to begin and what we could expect as we progressed. They helped us deal with our set backs and arrive at a much better place. They were completely invested in helping our family get to the underlying causes and communicate so that issues can be addressed more effectively in the future. We are grateful for the progress that we've made and the foundation that they've helped us build. Should you find your family is in the unfortunate position where intense help is needed, the Turnbridge staff can provide you with that support with professionalism, expertise, discretion and love.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND UR KIDS HERE. Coming from a former client at turnbridge i please please urge any parents or anyone in active addiction or recovery do more research and FIND A BETTER PLACE. I was a client at turnbridge for almost 2 and a half years and I know people and clients that had been for many more. Based off my experience and my life in turnbridge This place's foundation is built off of how much money they can make FIRST and foremost. They lie to parents and the manipulate parents more then they put helping people get better clean and sober lives SECOND if your lucky to find/have the right staff to surround yourself with. I don't think that the ceos of turnbridge are well enough staffed and educated to deal with all the different hard things people are going through. They are a Recovery Based program and we did a lot of the 12 steps but most of that was over shadowed by the constant drama and issues the staff of turnbridge couldn't handle. While I was at turnbridge there were cases of male support staff talking to female clients. There were other cases of things like that too. I had a really hard time there as well with eating issues and dietary restrictions and They just don't or aren't hiring the right doctors to help with that I found it got way worse because everything was more focused on my drug use. There were many cases in my time in turnbridge where a girl was SA and turnbridge didn't handle it well. The mens and woman's side of turnbridge isn't separated enough and people would be having relationships a lot which is difficult for any Co-rd treatment program to handle turnbridge handled it awfully And unprofessionally. At the end of the day this is just my experience and it doesn't mean the whole place is awful there are staff members there that I wouldn't be able to handle turnbridge without them and they did an amazing job and I'm still in contact with them today. My only advice is please please do all the research you can. Turnbridge also has changed a lot throughout the years so that doesn't mean they have been completely awful the whole time as well.
My son was on the Woodbury campus late last year and it was a great experience. His therapist was the clinical director and she was the BEST therapist he’s ever had and really made a positive difference in his life. I didn’t realize just how spoiled we were at Turnbridge; how communicative and professional they were until he left and went to a different program which was awful. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is due to how unstructured the weekends are and how boring for the kids with no outings or ways to keep busy in such a remote location.
It’s a place with people and the people do things . Overall not bad just long
My son change his life after leaving Turnbridge, it was an amazing program and taught him so many skills that has been helping him to this day which is a year after he left. I would recommend highly the program and I really am thankful for all the staff that did such an amazing job with him.
This place is miserable. They lie to you about the length of stay until you sign the contracts, upon which they reveal the truth to you after you have already signed away your rights. They are affiliated with the local police and they will use the police to coerce you into staying. They do everything they can to isolate you from access to your own money and brainwash/turn your parents against you. Very few of the kids actually care about sobriety and there is a lot of violence from other clients. Parents, I'm begging you; do not subject your loved one to this misery.
They just want the money and will manipulate any way possible to secure it. I feel badly for parents who dont know the truth behind this company.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
