List of Iraj Rahmati's Reviews
I really love Dr Rahmati. Very sweet and really good at what he does. I came here awhile ago on the advice of my doctor after having been in an auto accident. I was having some issues due to a concussion with many concurrent eye problems and there was a concern with possible detached retina. Dr. Rahmati was very thorough and was able to fit me in despite his very full schedule. His staff are friendly, kind and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place!
I went to this eye doctor several months ago as a new patient trying to find a replacement for the one I had when I lived in the Waterbury area. First off there was definitely a bit of language barrier going on. I am VERY good with accents and broken English but this guy could use another English class or two. But I really don't hold language barriers against anyone, it was just a complication I was having from the start. Once the exam started I stated several conditions that I have been diagnosed with, and that I needed more than just a normal quick eye exam. He stated he was not sure what I was talking about with the kinds of lenses I need (which is THE type of lens used to treat double vision). He also began resisting me when I said I wanted new glasses. I typically get a new pair every 2 years due to how sensitive my eyes are to minor changes in the lens quality. But no..... this guy didn't want to have anything to do with it. Flat out said I don't need new glasses even though I clearly stated my double vision had gotten a bit worse. I ended up giving up trying to wrestle with this guy's opinions, which were the exact opposite of any other eye doctor I've ever seen... and he sent me home with not even a new prescription to take somewhere. Only thing I got out of the hour of time wasted there was dilatated eyes and told to come back in a couple of years. Yay. Anyway I ended up going back to my old eye doctor, who is great! Dr. Stephen Ulc in Naugatuck, CT. Granted a much longer drive, but worth it. And guess what!? He found a new muscle problem with my eyes that Rahmati Iraj completely missed. And this is something that I need to go to a specialist for and get MRI's done for. So imagine what COULD have happened if I trusted the word of Rahmati Iraj. It literally could have cost me my vision to keep going to him. Stay away from this guy until he gets retrained and re-educated, at the least.
though he is a very knowledgeable dr. he can be very rude and unsupportive e is
I went to Dr. Rahmati this week on 12/6/18 for the first time and he was wonderful very pleasant , patient, kind and he gave me a very complete eye exam he was so understanding and made me feel so comfortable.
Dr. Rahmati has been a compassionate, dediated healthcare provider to our family for decades. I would recommend him highly to anyone I care about. You just don't meet many like him -- he is truly a gem.
Dr. Rahmati is very good and seems very competent. I'm writing the review because his reception staff person is basically off-putting. When leaving, I never feel like I wish to return even though I do like Dr. Rahmati himself. He likely doesn't know that the reception staff person is unfriendly and very terse in communication.
On my third visit ($150 per visit) for an eye infection he said that I had an eyelash that looked like it might be irritating my eye and he thought it should be removed. I said I hadn't noticed any irritation, but told him to go ahead. He did not say that it would be an extra cost but I would have paid a reasonable fee without question. I received a bill for my office visit ($150) and an ADDITIONAL charge of $125 to remove the eyelash. Not reasonable. I will see another doctor in the future.
Dr. Rahmati is the best. Very knowledgable, highly skilled, kind and gentle. He is always thorough during office visits. He also performed cataract surgery for me when I needed it and I am happy with the results .
Dr. Rahmati is a skilled & compassionate physician, along with a wonderful man. Been a patient for decades. His staff on the other hand has always been difficult to deal with on various issues over the years. A recent & significant billing issue, which is still unresolved after a 6 weeks & 3 differing bills, is the result of a staff that is unwilling to listen, who become rude and defensive when errors (both cash & check payments not credited) making it difficult to resolve. Watch your bill.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
