Dr. Shapiro performed surgery on me this past February at Memorial Miramar Hospital after being admitted through emergency. She determined my condition at time was very serious and that surgery was necessary. After going through preliminary test and diagnoses she explained what needed to be done to correct the problem. From the beginning of my surgery and throughout the entire process she remained in contact with me. Besides her professionalism she was very caring during my stay. Upon being released from the hospital I received all the necessary instructions and information for a successful recovery. My follow up with her was comprehensive and she allowed me to ask questions as far as activities and how they would affect the healing process. Again she gave advice that was sound and knowledgeable. I am still thanking her for doing a most excellent job of getting me back on my feet.

I don't normally leave a review but I had such a rarely wonderful experience with Dr. Shapiro and her staff that I had to share. With six previous abdominal surgeries, I had a slightly complicated medical history. Dr. Shapiro took her time to listen, collect data, and get the most accurate picture possible before my surgery. She removed mesh that a previous surgeon could not remove and I healed beautifully. Within a week I realized there was a noticeable difference in my recovery. The icing on the cake? Her bedside manner is outstanding. Since my husband could not be with me post surgery, she called him and put his mind at ease once my procedure was over. She came by to check on me several times as well. I cannot say enough good things about the experience I had with Dr. Shapiro's entire office. I pray I never need another surgery but if I have to have one, I want Dr. Shapiro on the job.

Dr. Shapiro is absolutely awesome! Just 13 days after my procedure, I went to have my follow up appointment for my hernia repair and I genuinely felt that I did not even have surgery just a little under two weeks prior; that’s how good I was feeling. Her expertise and knowledge when it came to recommending the surgery which best suited me for my inguinal hernia is a reason I feel like I am healing so quickly. I would recommend her to anyone. Keep doing great work Dr. Shapiro!

Dr. Shapiro removed my appendix by way of laparoscopic surgery, after detecting I had signs of acute appendicitis.

I highly recommend Dr. Shapiro. She is very clear in explaining your medical conditions, and how she intends to treat them, as well as, what to expect before and after. i had a team of doctors assigned to work with me, but Dr. Shapiro was there to check on me multiple times every day of the 13 days I was in the hospital. Besides being a great surgeon, she is also empathetic and sincere. We had a great rapport and open, honest discussions. I recently had a followup appointment and it was easy to schedule with only 2 days notice, and the office staff was friendly with only a very short wait to see the Dr. Again, my highest recommendation.
