While I really liked Dr. Sarah Canavan, however, the Coastal Digestive Care Center in New London was horrible. I was handed a gown, told to change in the bathroom and then walk out to an open room with beds, and NONE of the curtains were pulled. I had to juggle my clothes while trying to keep the back of my gown closed while walking in front of everyone, including men. When I woke from my COLONOSCOPY the curtain was open and a man was staring at me from across the way as well as 2 other patients. This place had no privacy and they really didn't care. The pre-op nurse was rude but the post op nurse was very kind. The only time my curtain was pulled was when I got redressed. While I would like to stay with Dr. Canavan, I really wish she was at another facility or the folks here would be a bit kinder caring for your privacy and not make you feel like cattle lined up going through a gate.

I have never left a review for a doctor before, but feel like Sarah Canavan has done so much for me that a review is long overdue. I initially met Dr. Canavan for what I thought was a routine colonoscopy. During that procedure, colon cancer was discovered. Dr. Canavan was kind, supportive, knowledgeable and professional as she helped me through the process of dealing with cancer. She took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with treatment options. Since that diagnosis she has continued to be a doctor who is very responsive to me needs and concerns. Thank you Dr. Canavan!
