List of Matthew F. Nichols's Reviews
Dr. Nichols is an excellent physician, primary care doctor, and coordinator of care. He is not afraid of hard work and complicated cases. I appreciate the time he spends listening to my concerns and helping me move forward. I find that he does promote vaccines, but that is his job - health promotion! I appreciate getting a tetanus booster that was quite overdue. My husband and I like Dr. Nichols’ calm demeanor as It helps to quell anxiety!
Nice guy but won’t take care of you he extended my surgery for more test a year later took away sleep meds I get one hour every 36 hours cannot function really messed me up The bags under my eyes cannot function my life is over is how I feel
Dr. Nichols spends much of the appointment typing into his computer not looking at me when asking questions..I felt browbeaten into getting flu shot when I had already said I did not want it. Wants to have me come in for follow up visits but no one at the office could tell me what the follow up is for..Refused to order lab work unless I come in to visit first..I am not ill and have no intention of going to a dr's office at this time (covid) unless absolutely necessary. As soon as I can find another dr. I will..
Dr Nichols is fantastic. As an individual with an anxiety substance abuse disorder, he was calm professional and caring in my treatment and advice. After a horrible experience with an injury and withdrawal issues by another doctor - he made me feel unjudged and cared for. Previously he was also the one to give another doctor advise in my gastrointestinal treatment which really helped me recover.
Excellent doctor. He listens and then explains everything, allowing me to make thoughtful and knowledgable health care decisions.
The man is terrible, and so is his office. My husband and I both had physicals with him. My husband and I were both the same % overweight, however I was a breastfeeding mother of a 3 month old baby. Dr. Nichols of course had to bring up that I was overweight, and that I need to address it, while I was literally breastfeeding. He did not say a word to my husband about his weight. His office also has forgotten to send in my refills twice, and sent in the wrong dosage once. Terrible office.
I have been seeing Dr. Nichols since I moved to CT (2012). He has been fantastic..! If you want a doctor who is straight forward, listens and gives you an accurate report of your heath he is the guy. He is very direct and professional. I can see how some people don’t like that approach I personally do. I can also say Dr Nichols prevented me from have a major heart attack by noticing an issue I had no idea existed. For that I am very grateful to him. He’s a great doctor.
Dr Nichols was very unprofessional and his bed side mannor was very poor! I would never recommend him to anyone! He was rude to me and cut me off everytime I talked and told me to hurry because he doesn't have time. I felt very mistreated by him and will make sure I never go back to him!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
