Very happy with the care I have received at the office. They’ve made my allergy shots a swift experience.

The check in staff is nice but the Drs in this office are very cold. Like they’re not hospitable and the entire experience is just dry. They take peds but the experience I had bringing my son here I would not do again. It’s like our visit was an inconvenience. This is my second time coming to this office and honestly my last.

Really impressed how the front desk lady handle my insurance concerns and resolved doubts.Dr. H seemed to be knowledgeable and easy explains the situation unfortunately not much he can offer for people with food allergies.Unfortunately they don’t test for food allergies from the blood, just recommend food elimination and they do so basic skin tests.Went to naturopathic doctor and who tested me for food allergies from the blood which Dr. H said it’s not possible. No recommend it after all.

I walked in after a referral from my 18 month old daughter’s pediatrician and made an appointment with the nice girl sitting to the left upon entry. She told me I would get the paperwork via an email to complete through an app. 40 minutes before our appointment for allergy testing a receptionist calls to tell me the email had just been sent. I attempted to complete the paperwork in the car while in the parking lot of the practice but due to poor reception had to wait until I got in to use the WiFi. I told the woman seated to the right I needed just a moment to complete it. She rudely responded “we need it done” which I was obviously well aware of and was doing my best. The PA Martin had a horrible bedside manner and no real personality to be dealing with pediatrics. I felt ill informed of the procedure and almost put off enough I didn’t want to ask questions. I will be certain to tell our pediatrician about the experience as I was not impressed at all with this practice. The nice girl to the left should definitely be given acknowledgement for being my only positive engagement with this practice.

I visited Dr. Hemmers with a allergic reaction around my eye. He suggested allergic patch test and when I asked for the estimate the amount quoted to me was half the amount I got billed for later. As it made no sense I asked for the breakdown - and it turns out they charged me three times for one patch test - once for sticking the patch on my back, second for the test itself and third to take the patch out and see if there were any red circles. So basically they subdivided one test into three charges, I being a physician myself find that a bit unusual.

I will be leaving this review for both offices as I can not thank them enough. For ten years I was told from my original allergist office I had a deathly shellfish allergy without ever having a severe reaction. I was re-tested by that allergist with one negative result and one positive result. I asked for a food challenge and was refused one and told to just get epi-pens.I found this office through a google search and had a consultation and the woman I saw at the Norwalk office (I wish I could remember her name) agreed that my allergy may be unlikely and their office squeezed me in for a food challenge last minute at the Shelton office (as I am moving to Asia in a month).NO ALLERGY! I have enjoyed lobster, crab, and shrimp for the first time in my life since I was 5 and I am so thankful for the medical professionals here that listened to me. Thank you so much!

Dr. Hemmers and the office staff in Shelton are AWESOME!!! Very easy to deal with and knowledgeable!!!

Dr Hemmers is an amazing doctor, he keeps you very much entertained while doing a food challenge, knows his stuff well and explains it well, facilities are clean and easy to get to, and would highly recommend for anyone.

Don’t expect a call back!

I highly recommend Dr. Hemmers! He is thorough, listens and gives you his time to understand your issues. 20 years ago I went thru the 'allergy shots' (with a different Doctor) for several years and they worked. I was sure my allergies were back and was fully prepared to do the shots again. Dr. Hemmers ran tests and prescribed a mild medication while we were waiting for the results. He was right, I do not have allergies and the medication worked wonders (only when I need it)!!!!! How refreshing to find a Doctor that has the patients' best interest at heart, love this guy!
