List of Wolf Vogel Md's Reviews
This is the first time, I rate a doctor 'one' star in my entire life. There are a few reasons for it.1) Staff was unprofessional, not patient enough - they behaved like someone made them work there and they are not enjoying their work at all. The only thing they cared is to put on a mask up to your nose till your chin.- The receptionist wasn't professional to answer questions, no smile, no pleasant welcoming.- The nurse is the same, no information on what are the next step, what should I expect, etc. I had to ask her every time about the next step while I was there. And her response gave an impression that she doesn't like when I ask her questions2) Doctor Vogel - I shouldn't be shocked at her behavior after how her staff made me feel there. But as I said earlier, the only thing they cared is to follow a policy of having a mask covering 80% of my face. I understand their concern but it shouldn't be in such an unprofessional and harsh way. Here is a detailed story:I had my own mask and because I had nose surgery a while ago, I use a washable/reusable mask only that is also lightweight. The receptionist asked to pull my mask up to the nose until my eyes and I informed her that I had nose surgery, I need to keep it like this as it hurts. Then she started "oh, we can't let you in, it is our policy, bla, bla". I said ok.She gave me their own plastic type of mask, I put it on. Then the nurse came, and the same conversation to raise my mask up until my eyes. I informed her also about my nose surgery, its pain, etc. but I still raised it again. Then, while I was waiting for doctor Vogel in a room, I put my mask below my eyes but it still covered my mouse and nose. As soon as she entered the room, without even introducing herself, she jumped on to raise my mask and pushed it hard so I keep it there. It hurt my nose. I said doctor I had nose surgery and it hurts. She didn't even apologize for hurting me, causing pain, and continued her conversation as if nothing happened.Despite of informing the entire staff about my pain and the reason not to raise the mask up until the eyes, they focused too much on their mask policy.I booked that appointment because I had concerns about my pregnancy, something wasn't going right. Instead of focusing on my pregnancy concerns, they only worried about how high I raised and keep my mask. And today, I got a surprise bill of up to $200. I asked them to inform me in advance if my insurance covers it and provided them with all the information in advance. I had a miscarriage, and when she checked she said that everything is fine... :( Not blaming her for it but didn't have a great experience as I expected.I hope after this review, they will make positive changes by prioritizing their customers and provide a more professional service.
Dr. Vogel is a caring and amusing board certified anesthesiologist. He introduced himself to me just prior to double bypass surgery. Instantly, he established rapport with my wife and me. After this introduction, we both felt more comfortable that my surgery would result in a favorable outcome.
Vogel in our experience is best and caring. She took good care of my wife during her pregnancy and suggested everything that is good for baby and my wife. Both baby and my wife are doing good especially something special about Vogel is that unless some unforeseen circumstances on her side, she will attend her patients for delivery either it's midnight or early morning or mid afternoon. She is available 24/7 to attend her patients especially during delivery time.
Dr. Vogel is an awesome doctor and I totally trust having my pregnancy in her hands. The staff in the office are also great, always so nice and friendly. In my 2 pregnancies (1 miscarriage and 1 nearly due) I have never waited more than 10 minutes in the waiting room and there was never more than 2 others in the waiting room at all the appointments I've been to. Would definitely recommend her to anyone needing an OB.
Terrible bedside manners with outdated fetal monitoring equipment. Wait is always minimum 30 min for prenatal visits. She spends 5 min...max 10min rushing questions during actual appointment. I regret putting me and my baby's health in her hands. Thankfully I have amazing insurance and will be shopping around.
Dr. Vogel misdiagnosed my ovarian torsion. She didn't believe my intermittent pain was 10/10. Because it wasn't caught early enough (had to get another opinion) they had to remove my left ovary. She didn't visit me in the hospital room except for discharge and had very callous bedside manner. Is it too much to ask for a Dr. to at least pretend to care at all? She also never explained my options just said I'm checking for "surgical abdomen" but she shouldn't have ruled out torsion since I was up all night in hospital with severe pain.
Wonderful! She cared about by health and always gave me the full picture of information that I needed. Throughout my pregnancy I appreciated her direct prompt responses to my questions - day and night. Her practice has a great quality, organized office staff. Most importantly, the nurses at SR Medical say she is the best OBGYN.
Dr Vogel and her staff are great, very patient and well knowledgeable. I just wish there was less of a 'daylight robbery' going on. Her clinic charges a fee of $20 for all state required paperwork that needs to be done. Its not employee or employer required or for fun, the state of CA needs it to pay me so being charged extra just doesnt make sense. Also her appointments have sometimes been rushed. Now Dr Vogel knows what she is talking about but is very fast in going through her visits so if u need someone who is patient and willing to listen endlessly, Dr Vogel is not your lady. I gave her 4 stars because she recognized my high risk and put me on a plan to see perinatologists right from day 1 where they monitored me very religiously, she took the time to be available on a public holiday for my unplanned delivery when i went into labor at 39 weeks and because of all this i had a successful delivery and quick labor. She has very good medical knowledge and knows what she is doing. I trust her 100%. My pro tip would be to have your list of questions ready ahead of time and ask them at your visit, so u wont forget when ur rushed thru the appointment.
I took my father to Dr. Vogel several times in the last few years of his life. Dr. Vogel incorrectly told me that once a patient has a catheter, there is no way to avoid UTIs and other infections. My dear father-in-law then went on to have repeated UTIs that lowered the quality and duration of his life. Fast forward a couple years after his death in 2015, and I learned that since 2005 there have been ongoing studies released that show that the use of a checklist when changing and caring for a catheter can bring UTI and other infection rates down close to 0%. My father-in-law was never given a checklist not did he have this information shared with him at all. Dr. Vogel seems far behind the times in caring for patients and keeping them infection free and I regret taking his word for it about infection rates. As a side note, wait times in the waiting room were often well over 30-45 minutes and then we would wait again once we were in a room.
Dr. Joanne Vogel delivered my baby girl. I credit her and the team at San Ramon Regional with keeping my baby and me alive and healthy. She was professional, attentive, and patient with her advice and care. The day before I delivered, she estimated my baby girl's weight exactly by feeling my stomach. She knows what she is doing, and I trust her completely.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
