David Martin Berkun's Online Review Report Card

You’d not find a pediatrician who is as dedicated to his profession as Dr. Berkun. He is always very thorough in our visits (perhaps too thorough so visits tend to take a long time, but it is a happy problem to have). He genuinely wants to know how the child is developing. He takes time to explain the growth curves, diet and nutrition, the reason for administering medications, and once, even explained to my child a 3-step process on how to deal with conflict with other children. We do not always agree on every aspect of child-raising, but he has respected our personal decisions for breastfeeding and extended co-rooming with the children. I will always remember Dr. Berkun coming for daily visits with my newborn, when I was in hospital for close to 2 weeks due to complications. He always had an encouraging word for me, and also shared notes on both my baby and my progress with my husband, who could not visit due to COVID-era policies. After my discharge from hospital, it was a challenge for me to find time to show up for my newborn’s appointments, and Dr. Berkun offered to come into office on the weekend. His caring extends beyond his patient to encompass the family of which the child is part. This is the kind of doctor you’d want to look after your children’s well-being.

I would highly recommend Dr. Burkin to all new parents. He has a consummate knowledge on child rearing and has incredible bedside manner. We look forward to each visit as we walk away with far more knowledge than a book could ever teach us.

Dr. Berkun is an amazing pediatrician. He cares so much about his patients. We can always get a hold of him in emergencies and even just for advice when the baby has a fever. He prioritizes his patients and has even met us on weekends when his office is closed. He taught us so much about parenting and has given us the confidence we needed as first time parents. He always types up notes for us to take home so we can follow along with his directions and he spends a lot of time with the baby for each appointment. We never feel rushed.

Dr. Berkun has been our family practitioner for 16 years and three children. He greeted our first child at delivery at Stamford Hospital and remains an integral and caring provider in his development to date. He takes his time and you NEVER feel rushed which is very important to me. Dr. Berkun remains a hospitalist at Stamford Hospital and that seems rare.

Dr. Berkun has been our Family Pediatrician since he came to the hospital when I gave birth with my first child 16 years ago. He is one of the only remaining hospitalists that I know of and having that type of relationship with a doctor who cares for your children is extremely important and meaningful. He has been there to support my three children every step of the way including the all important after hours call. Highly recommend.
