Sandra Marzella Hughes's Online Review Report Card

My Wellness Visit with Dr. Hughes was thorough and complete. She reviewed; my medical and family history, medicines I am currently taking, and gave me a thorough physical exam, checking my vitals. I find Dr. Hughes to be efficient, knowledgable, and caring. I've been seeing her for two years, and have confidence in her consistency as an excellent healthcare provider.

Dr Hughes has a way of not only treating the problem that was the cause of an office visit, but she also probes into my general health and well-being. I find her attentive and engaging, and her diagnostic approach inspires confidence

She seems knowledgeable, but her bedside manner is not kind or compassionate. She manages to always make me feel like I am wasting her time (even when I am just there for my required annual physical). Also she fat-shamed me last time I was there, and I'm not even overweight (she said my BMI was fine). So I am now looking for another doctor.

Had gotten a physical several years ago at EGFP. I had gotten her instead of my primary physician huge mistake!! She also treated me like an idiot and made me feel ashamed being over weight. Was just about in tears after i left. No signs of care at all the nurses were nicer then she was!!

She does not to seem to care about here patients, has never called me with any of my results . I am leaving this Practice because of her. She has never had me make a apointment for a follow up appointment for any thing, She acts like she afraid touch you. I have to call her to schedule my blood work instead of her telling me to.

I saw Dr. Hughes at Mansfield Family Practice in Storrs, CT and it was the worst experience of my life. The doctors office is the worst I have even dealt with. The staff is rude, they talk to you like you are an idiot and the doctor is extremely condescending. She diagnosed me with hypothyroidism and put me on medications which made me feel terrible. When I told her, she just increased the dosage without talking to me about other options. I took myself off the meds and found a new doctor!

I have been seeing Dr. Hughes for about a year now. During a routine physical, we discovered that I have an under-active thyroid. Dr. Hughes seemed attentive at first but does have a way of making you feel like a dumb idiot. The way she responds to questions I very unprofessional. Treating a thyroid disease is a long, drawn out process in which she paid little to no interest in. I understand she has other patients, some with more serious concerns than mine, but it was a difficult, tough time and I felt like I had no support. One time, I had blood drawn to check thyroid levels and it took her THREE weeks to get the results to me. That is unacceptable when it is MY health we are dealing with. I most recently asked her about a prescription and if we could change it due to the high cost and she basically told me to figure it out myself and to talk to the pharmacist! She is my doctor but blatantly showed she didn't have time for me. I could ALMOST see her reaction if I was a "needy" patient that called every time I coughed, but I am not. Very Disappointing service. I do not recommend.

I have missed Sandra Hughes at East Granby Family Practice. Haven't been as happy with anyone since she left couple years ago. She was proactive and concerned when I had back trouble. Sent me immediately for MRI only to find out that I had a benign tumor attached to the inside of my spine, lower back. Luckily she acted quickly for a surgeon to remove it. She knew my history of breast cancer and acted accordingly. Whenever I needed to see her she always remembered me and my history thoroughly. I wish she was closer to my town to still see her.

I have been going to EGFP for over 25 years. We absolutely love the Drs. and all of the staff. However, we refuse to see Dr. Hughes. Sandra Hughes not only treats you like an idiot, she has the worst bed side manner. The only two times we ever saw her (our primary dr. was not in the office), she miss diagnosed Strep both times, resulting in Impetigo in my child. It's a throat swab.....how can you screw that up?
