List of Lawrence S. Beck's Reviews
As I was explaining my symptoms he asked me if I’m on painkillers and kept flashing the light in my eyes. Maybe to see if my pupils would respond? I told him I’d taken ibuprofen the previous day but I think he thought I was on or wanted narcotics. After establishing my complaint was not even about headaches but dizziness he decided to attribute my symptoms to anxiety and recommended no follow up. If his first thought when he sees a patient is to assume they are after drugs or they are crazy, then I don’t know how he can provide adequate care to anybody. I think I’d have to be paralyzed for him to think that there was something physically wrong. Anyway, my symptoms turned out to be autoimmune. I don’t think he has any understanding of auto immune disease which apparently can manifest neurologically
My mother and I saw Dr. Beck regarding an update on her dementia. Dr. Beck took the time to thoroughly explain the history, process and treatment. He was able to meet with us simultaneously and yet was careful to address both of our concerns and meet our needs. Well done! His administrative assistant Grace also was very responsive and helpful. Will return.
My experiences with Dr Beck have been nothing less than great. He is very friendly and explains things very well and clearly. I definitely recommend him to anyone who needs to visit a neurologist.
This is a follow up to my previous review of my horrible experience with Lawrence Beck. I ended up seeing another doctor a few weeks after my visit with Beck. They floated the idea of a possible neurological issue, something that Beck said there was no possibility I have. Awaiting a tilt table exam to get a final diagnosis. On top of this appointment I also saw a rheumatologist, after explaining my medical history, they immediately diagnosed me with a post viral neurological condition which I have since been put on medication for. Funny enough the rheumatologist told me that I should have seen a neurologist for. I told them that I had seen Beck a month prior, turns out he does not have that great of a reputation among his colleagues. They still billed me for several hundred dollars for a 30 minute exam filled with gaslighting and horrible manners. His reviews speak for themselves. This man is a danger to the health of his clients and the legitimacy of his practice.
Horribly rude, slow to respond, seemingly miserable humans work here. If you take your healthcare seriously avoid this practice at all costs. Josylin, Beck's assistant, puts more energy into being difficult than being helpful. With the time and energy she takes to be unhelpful one could easily resolve questions and needs. Then again, this is Dr Beck's practice and we have experienced nothing but slow, unhelpful, staff . If there was a choice for 0 stars I would have selected that.
I had been having various physical complaints of neck and back pain, as well as numbing/tingling in my extremities. After “passing” his battery of tests, he concluded my sx’s were psychosomatic and chalked them up to anxiety and situational stressors. I directly inquired if symptoms could be related to a pinched nerve or back issue, and Dr. Beck quickly dismissed that as well. Upon my insistence to find the root cause of my symptoms he offered to refer me for an MRI, although he stated, “if you were my brother I wouldn’t recommend the MRI”. Maybe being Board Certified in Psychiatry, Dr. Beck focused more on my awareness of sx’s rather than the sx’s themselves. Secondly, nobody from the office ever followed up to schedule the MRI I had still wanted. For these reasons, unfortunately I cannot recommend Dr. Beck no matter how pleasant and kind he was. I did later pursue an MRI referral on my own, which did conclude degenerative disk disease and multiple pinched nerves in my neck and back

I spent a year under Dr Becks care. I thought he would be a good doctor given his reviews.Maybe its because he is older now but he hasn't helped me at all in the last year. Every visit he would say lets give it more time and wait for a year since diagnosis. It has now been a year and I have a new doctor who has ordered more blood work and test in 1 month then Dr Beck did all year.
Honest and straight forward. Very good listener.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
