List of Medi-Weightloss Wallingford's Reviews
I love this place, period. I love the nurses, the staff, and the program itself. I've been a client for 6 weeks, and feel these 6 weeks have been wildly successful. I am confident that I'll reach my goal soon, and when I do, I look forward to sticking with them through maintenance. Insurance covers a good portion. I've forgotten that I could feel this positive. Covid really did a number on me, and this clinic has been instrumental in undoing both the physical and emotional damage. This is really something you should do for yourself if you're considering it. I know that each clinic is independently owned and operated, so this review can't really apply to other clinics as I have no working knowledge of them. I'm part of an online group and I hear horrible things about some clinics in other states, but none of those issues are seen in Wallingford. If you're thinking of signing up, don't hesitate. It works.
I love this place and everybody in it. I like to be at the low end of my range and they got me back to that. I could not do it by myself. People think if you have 25 or so pounds to drop it's easy. If it was easy I would have done it by myself. I was never outrageously hungry and I was always encouraged by the nurses there. I just can't say enough good things about this place. I thank God I found it. Really happy I am back to ME!!!
If I didn't pay to get started and had all my blood work done I wouldn't of continued as I got a phone call Wednesday morning as my appointment was in the afternoon and I was contact traced as it was suspected I was possibly exposed and I needed to go get tested for COVID, they are still charging me for a missed visit even though I couldn't call and I emailed the other rep letting her know and they informed me I still have to pay for the visit. If you get a call for contact tracing due to COVID, I would go as they don't take this seriously. While I'm fortunate and my testing came back from Wednesday and I'm negative but still. Again if you get a call, still go in because you're getting charged anyway and the checks they do for it are a total joke. This is the Wallingford CT office.
Love it there, the staff is awesome
Great program, terrible location. They overbook people and you wait 40 mins to 1 hr to see someone after your appointment. Hardly anything offered online is stocked in the location.
This place should close down. They play on the mind and hopes of people wanting to get healthy a loose weight. I came in for consultation for over an hour. It did seem a bit to good to be real but when your eager and desperate to loose weight you give most things a chance. What bothered me til this day is that they misrepresented them selves. They informed me that a $50 deposit was required in order to begin the program and have an appointment scheduled. Then at the appointment it would be año few $100 dollars. I gave the $65 instead. Prior to the schedule appointment I became ill with an existing condition that I had informed them of during my consultation. I informed them that my doctor made it clear I could not follow through with this program due to my Diverticulosis. Medí weight loss refuse to return my deposit. $65 May not be a lot of money but they were all bout the cash without providing service. This is stealing in my book. Don’t go to this place. It’s not worth it.
I will start by saying they did help me. I am grateful for that much. The ladies who worked there were wonderful. Now, the reason this is 1 star is because of the billing they do. Let's me first tell the readers that I am a medIcal biller and coder for the past 15 years. If you see the dietician- you are charged a counseling service to the insurance. If you see an APRN - you are charged both a follow up visit and counseling service. I have tried to explain to this office that what they are doing with the aprn is fraudulent. I explained in detail to my insurance company as well as to what happened pens in that office but they won't do anything about it because of course the notes support it. I will walk you thru what happens. You go in and do a urine analysis to check for ketones. Then you go into the room with whoever is available. When you walk in thEy start a timer outside to time the visit because the counseling is based off time. Remember that tidbit there. You talk about how your week went and bam you're done in 10 min. The timer now stops and they base their counseling code off how much time you spent in there. BUT if you see the APRN, she bills you for the Small counseling session PLUS a follow up. The coding book clearly states that the counseling code they use are for SEPARATE reasons from the follow up visit. I am there for weight loss, I have no other reason why I am there. So this office puts a modifier code on the follow visit stating that it was a SEPARATE EVALUATION SERVICE from the other service performed on the same day. That my readers, is fraud. You either bill one or the other but not both. I currently go to a new medi weight loss in another city, they bill follow up visits only, as it should be. They also let me know ahead of time what my cost will be. This medi weightloss told me my first visit was $150. I paid upfront to "secure my spot", and then paid the balance the day of my appointment. The office staff didn't tell me that what I paid was for the start up cost. It wasn't even towards my first visit. They are unorganized and need to be trained on how to handle insurance situations One more thing that they won't correct. They wouldn't do my initial counseling service (the explanation of the diet and how it works) the same day I did my initial medical visit (blood work and all that). But they didn't mind charging my insurance for that long "counseling" session on that day. I don't kNow how many times I explained that they made me come back 2 days later to have the initial counseling. Then the day I had the initial counseling they charged for a urinalysis which I never did because I was just getting told how the program worked. This location needs to be audited and shutdown for fraud.**in response- I never received any messages except for when my insurance called on my birthday when I was in Miami and I was not about to discuss anything at the moment. There really is nothing to discuss anymore.** I'll just leave you with this piece of advice from a coder and billed of 15 years, just because IT CAN BE BILLED, doesn't mean that's what you are doing. You are ripping your clients off by double billing and lying to insurance companies.
This is the worst facility ever they lost my bloodwork and I had to insist that the front office manager take accountability and call to locate they have yet to call me with an explanation not to mention she was extremely rude about the this matter Also they have faulty scales I requested to be weighed 2x because I knew I had not lost as much as the scale was claiming to showThis is the most unacceptable customer service out there go to another facility clearly they are just out for the moneyThey don't even deserve one starUpdate They say they tried to reach out to me several times however there are no messages left on my phone nor email that reflect this effort!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
