List of Alan Scott Waitze's Reviews
I met him for 5 minutes was told I need major surgery with fusions and laminectomy and I lost my ability's to stay in the moment I was in shock. He took so much time to help me understand and make me feel comfortable. The day before the surgery I was really scared and was going to cancel, he called me up and spent a half hour on the phone helping me feel comfortable. Really cares about what he does and his patients each and every one.
Finally decided to see a neurosurgeon. I did NOT want to have surgery, but I felt a second opinion was needed. My girlfriend, who's a nurse, found NOSS and Dr. Waitze. I booked an appointment, and he scheduled me for an MRI. I had 2 MRIs about 6 months apart. The second MRI showed an increase in disc herniation L5-S1. I was in so much pain that I could barely make it through the 2nd MRI, but I fought through. Basically my sciatic nerve was wrapped around the herniation. Dr. Waitze is an extremely nice guy. He explained everything in detail and seemed to genuinely care. He even seemed bummed he couldn't help me at the initial visit but assured me of complete relief with surgery. Fast forward 6 months, and I'm back at the gym, hiking and pain free. My heel feels a little funny every now and then, but the pain is GONE. I've referred a few people to his office, so I really hope they get relief. Dr. Waitze is a great doctor, and I would highly recommend!
Went to Dr. Waitze for a second opinion after having an injection done at UCONN for sciatica pain. The pain started at my hip and went down my left leg into my heel. I felt no reprieve for almost 9 months. I initially thought it was my hip, so I went to see a hip specialist. He referred me to a spine surgeon, who I saw at UCONN. He started me on anti-inflammatories, which did nothing. I also tried ...
I found Dr Waitz to be an excellent surgeon as well as very kind and compassionate. He never has rushed through an appt with me and explained and answered any questions I had. Highly recommend him!
Dr. Waitze’s performance during my spinal fusion was flawless. Minimal scar, healed up with no issues. I’m looking forward to becoming more active. Thank you!
This man gave me my life back and I will forever be grateful for that. 3 years after hurting myself at work and 3 surgeries later I am following my dream of a career change and becoming a nurse.
Dr. Waitze has performed three surgeries for me, and they have all been successful in relieving my spinal problems. He is a good listener, explains procedures thoroughly, and explores options available to you. His compassion for his patients is laudable.
I had two herniated disks replaced by Dr Waitz about 8 years ago. He was and Im sure still is one of the most compassionate and caring doctor I have ever dealt with. Thank you Dr Alan Waitz for being an A+ physical and surgeon.
one of the best doctors for those type of surgeries. He replaced 2 disks in my neck and its been almost 10 years and all is well. Miss seeing him at st marys where I worked till I retired.
I have been a patient of Dr. Waitze since 2009 when I had to have surgery on my neck and back. Dr Waitze went over everything with me to make sure that's what I wanted. He was and is a great Dr. I wouldn't go to anyone else. I have also referred 3 others and they are all doing fine. Thank you Dr. Waitze

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
