List of Mahendra Patel's Reviews
I have been a patient if Dr. Patel for over 15 years now. He diagnosed my PBC and took care of me until I had to go on liver transplant waiting list. He did many procedures in me when I was sick and continued to follow me after transplant . Yes the wait is long to see him and I know the office is staff is very busy but I am so thankful to him and I will never change Doctors . He is stuck with me and my new liver.
If I could give this office zero stars I absolutely would solely based on his incompetent staff. The disorganization and chaos that ensues in this office is beyond frustrating and above anything else, unprofessional. The office staff's horrible attitude also adds to the terrible experience. The amount of times I have called to then be placed on hold for 15 minutes plus and then forgotten about is ridiculous, and not to mention the time I went in for my scheduled appointment and then not even seen by Dr. Patel because he wasn't there. In regards to Dr. Patel I found him to be extremely dismissive, condescending, and borderline neglectful. Save your time and your money and do not go to this office. It will cause nothing but a headache and extreme frustration.
MEGA P.O.S. !!!
My review is based on the staff/ billing department. Estella and Laura defenetely don't have good customer service. They also failed to give me the correct insurance information regarding coverage on a procedure when I asked. I had also called insurance prior to procedure to make sure it would be covered but with out correct diagnosis code you can get wrong info. If you go there be very careful because you will end up with a huge bill later on.
If you want a doctor and office staff that have no clue what they're doing, then this is the office for you!I CLEARLY stated, to whoever answers their phone, that I had excessively bleeding hemorrhoids that need to be treatedSIMPLE. I was scheduled for later that same afternoon. At the office, I waited an hour and 20 minutes before asking why it was taking so long to be seen. Only then was I told I had been squeezed into an already busy day. No one told me that on the phone or I would have gone elsewhere.Another 15 minutes waiting, then FINALLY placed in a room where I waited another 12 minutes for Dr. Patel to come in and start talking about my stomach! This is how part of our conversation went..."I am not here for my stomach.""Why are you here, then?""Didn't they tell you that I have bleeding hemorrhoids?""I don't do hemorrhoids; you need to see a surgeon for that.""You mean to tell me I waited more than an hour and 45 minutes for that?! How can the person who scheduled me not know that you don't treat hemorrhoids?!"He shrugs and talks about the last time I was in for something else. He writes out a prescription for that so I won't have to pay out-of-pocket for an expensive medication.I leave the room and complain to the gals at the front desk for WASTING SO much of my time. I was beyond angry and complaining as I walked out! Then, when I went to pick up his prescription, I learned I'd have to pay $85 (!!)So much for an entire WASTED afternoon where I got absolutely NOTHING from these buffoons.Since the staff AND doctor in this office are SO ignorant, careless, uncaring and unprofessional, I STRONGLY suggest you stay away from them and go elsewhere!

I had a good experience here staff was kind doctor gives me the feeling of expertise! I'm very grateful for a doctor that is thorough like Dr. Patel. This was my first visit.
Absolutely horrible. Wrong address trying to hide people from posting. EVIL AND WRONG PLEASE READ BELOW. DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE Have spent 6 times on phone with receptionist Nancy trying to get result of biopsy for a real Dr who cares Dr. Patel reminds me of a racist who hates Caucasian's. He never put me under during my EGD. I was tortured while awake as they took samples off my esophagus. He stated in report I was combatant and needed more sedation. Obviously if I am awake during this procedure I need more sedation This guy tortured me. His secretary is SOOOOOOO DUMB. I can not believe how many times I have spoke to Nancy and she blatantly lies. My doctor ordered results twice to no avail. Nancy never sent them. My doctor said I need to call because Nancy will not send these results I called Nancy again. She told me you can request results your doctor has too. I explained my doctor has twice requested and has instructed I reach out to you. Then Nancy said she had my results and will fax immediately I called my doctor the next day Nancy again never sent results She is blatant liar. I guess secretary like doctor. Both evil and mean. Totally incompetent and incomprehensible SIMI VALLEY LOCATION Nancy receptionist and doctor.
Dr Patel is a very good doctor but my office experience yesterday was unacceptable. I arrived on time for my 3:20 appointment. They made me wait 80 minutes, 60 minutes in the front waiting room and anther 20 minutes in the exam room. I did complain to the front desk personnel. I suggested they add time to each appointment to reduce the wait time. I would have left but it was a followup appointment for some procedures and I wanted the results. When I finally saw the doctor, he didn’t apologize. If this was just a one time experience, I wouldn’t give them this bad review but this is not the first time I waited to see this doctor. The only reason I don’t change doctors is because he is a good doctor but the office is not run properly.
Dr. Patel saw my father for a colonoscopy he was very thorough with the procedure itself. Staff is very nice and professional at his office I would definitely see his for myself once I need a procedure and I would recommend him to any of my family or friends.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
