Having come into Hartford Hospital in an emergency situation with shortness of breath and then being diagnosed with pericardial effusion - being then rushed to the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory - where was the first time I ever had seen Dr. Rizvi. However, in hind site I can't imagine how I could have selected a more excellent Dr. Being in an emergency situation he explained very briefly to my husband that he was going to perform the procedure to draw off the fluid from my heart. The outcome was very positive and Dr. Rizvi spent much time with my family explaining what transpired and assured them that I was going to be OK. Highly Recommended

Dr. Rizvi did my angiogram and found that I need to have stents places to open the vessels. He explained everything with vocabulary that the layman could understand. He proved to me that he cares about his patients and does all he can to make them feel at ease. He stopped in before and after the procedure several times. He called my cardiologist right after the procedure and reported back to me what they discussed. He made a stressful situation much less stressful. Wonderful doctor.

I had an angiogram at Hartford Hospital & Dr. Rizvi was the interventionalist cardiologist who conducted the procedure which revealed a 90% blockage in one main artery and he continued with a stent angioplasty. Dr. Rizvi showed careful and considerate attention to my situation in our pre-surgery conversation. He was one of the most informative and reassuring doctors I have had occasion to meet. I felt I was in good hands from the very start and the next day he again spent time explaining what was done and what to anticipate going forward. Dr. Rizvi is a gifted listener, teacher and surgeon. I recommend him without reservation.

I found Dr. Rizvi, his staff, and the staff of the Cath Lab to be highly professional and caring. Dr. Rizvi spent over an hour explaining the procedure to my wife and me prior to the operation. Afterwards he explained the outcome (which I wasn't happy about) to me. Good doctor!

I have been seeing Dr Risvi for several years now. I have always had a good experience with him, he does not leave until all my questions or concerns are answered. One of the best cardiologists I have ever had.

Dr Rizvi was prepared to conclude my father's appointment without discussing medication. We were concerned about the need to continue with one drug because of the side effects. His response was "Oh yes, stop taking the Metoprolol." Why would he not have reviewed the medications as part of the appointment routine? Was not reassured about Dr. Rizvi's level of skill.
