My daughter has gotten an MRI here in Winsted and is today getting a cat scan. So this location is in addition to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. The staff I have met are very nice. This location shares space with the emergency room.

I hate to give a 1 because the clinical staff were really great. The staff at check in, however, was disrespectful, argumentative and dismissive. They also seem to be unaware that there conversations are not private and can be heard by the whole waiting room. I asked a question about why another patients care was prioritized over my mothers. I didn’t really understand their answer because they kept saying the clinicians triage and decide but neither my mother or the other patient was ever met by a clinician. Any question I asked while looking for clarification was met with a dismissive comment. I went back to sit down and they continued to loudly tell me that I was choosing to not understand even after I had taken a seat and was not speaking. I could then hear them talking about me and my mother. When my mother was called into by a clinician, the first thing the check in staff say, and very loudly I might add, is “that one is angry” when I said no I’m not and tried to explain I was shut down. I again tried to speak and the staff member put her hand up and repeatedly said “bye”. These two ladies have no business working patients especially in an emergency room setting. My mother was in tears with the way they were speaking to me. They are a terrible representation of the care your clinical staff provides

Great care from start to finish. My nurse was amazing. She made me feel so safe and well taken care of. Never had such a wonderful experience at an emergency room before.

Shouldn't even be called a hospital. Patients are not taken seriously. Been in multiple times. Sure, it's a nice building, but if you're not on the floor dying. You won't receive any help from them!!

I have gone here I think 5 times in the past 2 1/2yrs (I have two boys now 6 and 4 who give me heart attacks daily) and they have been AMAZING. The check in is always smooth and quick. Never had to wait more than 10min (once) but usually called within only a couple minutes. The nurses are fantastic, and the two drs we saw for those visits were great with my kids. They are patient and caring. They always gave my kids stickers, sometimes they give toys too. We don’t have to wait very long while in the room and they give amazing attention. I’ve been to the er at CHH many times over my 33yrs of life and I can honestly say they are soooooo much better here. They were great when our issues weren’t technically emergencies, but because it’s all been after normal Dr office hours or weekends, and all our “walk-in”s in town were close. They treated us so kind and always said it’s better to be safe than sorry! Highly recommend (and I’m not a fan of Doctors or Dr. Offices!!) coming here and avoiding CHH or other ER’s.

What a joke. The second i told the doctor I did not have insurance five minutes later I was offered my discharge papers. Knowing damn well what i’m going through because i been threw it already. Can you spell malpractice? My lawyer sure can

This is a health center for EMERGENCY only. You will be treated for any ailment, but you will be billed for EMERGENCY SERVICES. I requested a COVID Test and was charged over $300.00. I should have been informed that I was in the wrong facility and referred to an outpatient clinic.

My husband went here over a week ago with breathing issues. They checked for covid and other viruses with a nose swab. They did absolutely nothing else. We were there for maybe 15 mins. They didn’t do a chest X-ray, they didn’t do any blood work, they didn’t even check his pulse ox level. If they had ran any of those test they would have known that his pulse ox was in the low to mid 80’s, he had a high white count and he had pneumonia in his lung. They sent him home. He was seen the at a different hospital and admitted for 4 days. The doctors there couldn’t believe that you sent him home the protocol you should have followed was simple and you didn’t do anything. Extremely poor treatment and it boarders on medical malpractice.
