Alex S. Mattia's Online Review Report Card

This office and Dr. Mattia are a conundrum. I went to him for a second opinion. From the start, it was difficult to reach a human at the office. I left a voicemail twice and requested that someone call me back. No one did. I finally called a third time, when the phone was answered and I was able to make an appointment. I arrived at the appointed time and was asked to fill out quite a lot of paperwork. Generally, at other offices, patients are provided the ability to complete that amount of paperwork, prior to the appointment. I completed the paperwork and shortly after was called into an exam room. The room I was in looked like something out of the 1990s. It was gross. It was badly in need of a renovation. Worst of all, the floors and surfaces were visibly dirty! I don't take my pets to veterinarians that are not clean. Dr. Mattia seemed attentive, knowledgeable and appeared to be a competent surgeon. All in all, I believe he's a good doctor. However, I cannot overlook such obvious red flags. Sadly, the issue of the lack of hygiene and the inability to make contact with the office are nonstarters. Hence, I'll be looking for a new podiatrist.

Very professional kind good manners patient on time explain everything

After 3 1/2 months of treatment and no relief, no answers and complete disrespect from Dr. Mattia and his team I sought a third opinion. Dr Mattia has good form but no follow up. The front office beyond sucks, very unprofessional, and they don’t speak or smile or have any courtesy when you enter the office. His office is extremely outdated, with ripped furniture and lots of dust and old tools. The foot model he uses to explain injuries doesn’t even have all its bones, a huge turn off and has made me want to change to another office each time I sit in one and wait for the doctor. He waited several months before requesting an MRI and then once he did, he failed to enter the clinical notes & the MRI was canceled, he then decided to call me and place the blame on another office rather than excepting the fact that he dropped the ball. After getting a third opinion, a tumor was found in my foot!! He never even examined both feet to see what they normally look like. He definitely dropped the ball. I saw him once a month for three months and not one time did he mention or suspect or thoroughly examine my feet.

Dr Mattia was thorough and helpful without piling on a bunch of extra unnecessary stuff
