Andrea Singer's Online Review Report Card

Dr Andrea Singer is the BEST InternalMedicine Dr I have ever had. I have been coming to her since she graduated w/her Specialization degree in Internal Medicine. I w/b 85 & she was better at how to treat my conditions in Virginia Hospital Center & She was right!!!! BTW, almost All of my wonderful drs r at G’Town, thanks to her referrals. She Is the BESt!!! She was very thorough and projected a broad knowledge of women's care for the treatment of osteoporosis. We were impressed.

I stopped seeing Dr Singer because she has become completely non-responsive & seems to have “checked out”. It seems she no longer really cares about her patients, or she just can’t be bothered. Dr. Singer will not return phone calls & has her staff call back many, many days later. When you tell her staff you want/need to talk to her, the doctor, it ends there: no call back, no response even when there is a serious problem w/ a medication she prescribed. She also forgot about lab work I needed

I was Dr. Singer's patient for several years but have stopped seeing her because she has become completely non-responsive and seems to have "checked out". It seems she no longer really cares about her patients, or she just can't be bothered. Dr. Singer just will not return phone calls. She has her staff call back many, many days later, and when you tell her staff that you want / need to talk to her, the doctor, it ends there: no call back, no response. I was having a lot of trouble with a medication she put me on, and when I called to tell her this and to ask if I could stop the medication, again: no call back, no response. She was supposed to give me a few scripts for certain lab work I needed done, and after having the blood work done, I realized she left out the script for the main test that I needed done. Some of the office staff is nice and helpful but others are not. When you call the nurse's phone line, with the hope of getting some help or an answer to your question, no one ever answers, and you can't leave a message because the voice mailbox is always full. The only way to speak to anyone in Dr. Singer's office at all is to call the direct line for physicians. Depending on who answers the phone, certain staff will actually get nasty and tell you not to call that number and to call the nurse's line! This is just bad situation that is best to be avoided.

I stopped going to Dr. Singer after many years of being a patient of hers. I feel like she stopped caring about me as a patient and wanted me in and out of there. When I was going through a period of severe depression, she skimmed over what I was telling her and told me to to diet and exercise.

She is a fantastic doctor. She took lots of time with me to get my medical history and understand my current health situation. She gave excellent advice regarding my treatment. She was very thorough in her physical exam. She is one of the best doctors I have ever seen.

Dr. Singer is excellent. Wonderful listener. Excellent bedside manner. It's a teaching hospital so you may get interns other staff too! Everyone is great. I would go any where to see her.

I was a long-term patient of Dr. Singer's. However the impossibility of getting an appointment and her lack of interest in returning calls ever, made me leave the practice. When a patient is hospitilized and calls for an appointment, they deserve a callback. The lack of another doctor to cover her when she is unavailable, since she only works one to two days a week, is also unacceptable.

I can't understand how anyone can say Dr. Singer is terrible and insensitive. I was one of her first patients after she left her residency (chief resident, by the way). She is truly a competent doctor who knows her stuff. She has a good sense of humor and I know for a fact that there are a lot of patients who want her as their doctor. To say she is terrible and insensitive is just wrong. Unfortunately, the staff in the Department where she works is not very sufficient or helpful, BUT, that is not Dr. Singer's fault. I wish she would go into private practice...I would follow her for sure...

Dr. Singer is very attentive and thorough. It is not difficult to get appointments - even short-notice appointments for emergencies.
